How did your last week go?
Any tips or tricks to share?

Re: Weekly GD Check In - 9/22
Struggled a little. My fasting numbers are high and irregular. With my work schedule last week I couldn't get my evening snack in because I would be lucky to get 5 hours between dinner/snack and fasting test. Struggling with ketones, too. The nutritionist and nurse thought getting bedtime snack would help, but it doesn't. Also, struggling to get snacks and meals at somewhat regular times at work and getting to test my blood after 1 hour because I can't get off the floor.
I am starting glyburide today. Only 1.25 mg, but I also have to work an overnight shift, so this should be fun for numbers.
Tips/Tricks?
Nope.
Vents
Work is getting increasingly ridiculous. I am struggling trying to do what I need to so that my pregnancy stays healthy and my DM couldn't care less about it. I am half tempted to have the midwives take me to part time. With ptl from my first, indicators for ptl this time, gd control issues, and high levels of stress at my job and no support on its way, I can't deal with it all.
Post GD food plans?
Apple crisp.
Ice cream.
Pretzels.
Pizza.

Timing is so important when you have GD, I don't think people really understand it unless they have had it or something similar. The note may help them understand that it is a true medical necessity rather than you being a difficult employee or what ever. Sorry you are dealing with this , like it's not stressful enough already!
@lilwatz yeah sorry one more test...at least it's only 2 hours and as @LitttleLadyAKS said..we'll have our little bundles of joy to get us through it
Oh and self control isn't my strong point either...I love me some carbs
Hey I'm Italian it's in my DNA haha...that's my story and I'm sticking to it haha
I also struggle with having enough time to space meals and snacks, mainly work days.
I do have a question, is there too much of a range in numbers? Will I get lectured about this?
Example Today:
fasting 84
Breakfast 103 (egg/cheese/toast/milk/banana)
-cucumbers & ranch snack
Lunch 126
(Bagel/cream cheese/lettuce/tomato)
-no snack(Wasn't hungry & busy at work)
Dinner 74
(Salad/ranch/string cheese/sug free pudding)
-snack: low-carb yogurt, PB toast

Any tips or tricks to share? Unfortunately not
Vents/Complaints/Upcoming Appts/AWs: getting tired of the meals I can eat so I have been experimenting more. Every time I do though I stress out about the results.

Tirimasu!!! I actually asked DH to have a big cake waiting for me after delivery. Lol
Hot lava molten chocolate cake from our favorite place
And all of the carbs and sweets. Lol
Last week? All good ish. My growth scan shows baby is all proportionate which is what u really look at with GD, where the belly circumstance is markedly bigger than the %s of the other measurements that it is an indication there is an issue caused by GD (awesome to have ultrasounds performed by the perinatologist as she interprets as she goes along unlike a tech who isn't licensed to) last week was nuts. First time in L and D for a non GD related issue. My DS full on body slammed by bump (he's 18 months) so was monitored for 4 hours in the L and D and then admitted over night for monitoring due to some contractions and tenderness in the uterus. But all good and no problems.
Tips to share? Tons really, I have learned SO much though out all the time I have had GD. Been very fortunate to have a medical team that are very involved and manage closely. I'll try to be better at sharing tips etc than I have been up to this
Vents/complaints etc?
Not really. Just so exhausted all. The time. Insomnia and night peeing is starting now too :-(
Diet after:
Would be awesome to follow the GD diet after and that was my intention with DS but with how crazy the times after birth (he was early due to GD complications) were it was just good to have food at all when ever in any form rather than the time and commitment for following the GD diet. Maybe at 6 months post partum I can plan on following it again. I started to follow before becoming pregnant this time and that was awesome to follow with out freaking out about what I was eating damaging my baby or cheating time to time.
Looking forward to sharing tips with all u ladies!
