New Bottle?

How many times do you try a bottle before determining your LO doesn't like it and you need to find a new brand?  DS was super easy and took right to the first bottle we tried with him (and bonus, they were the inexpensive Gerber bottles).  We've tried a bottle with DD a few times now in preparation for starting DC in 2 weeks and she's fought it about 50% of the time.  At what point is it beyond DD just getting the hang of a bottle over breast and needing to try a new bottle brand?

Re: New Bottle?

  • We went through so many brands with our DD. If she absolutely hated it and would not drink a sip, we'd ditch it and try a new one the next day. She sorta drank from a Nuk, but the next day wasn't a fan. So I tried maybe once more before switching. We settled on Munchkin Latch bottles. It's the only one she's taken consistently so I went ahead and bought a couple packs of them.

  • When I was breastfeeding, she wouldn't drink well from any bottle. We tried so many different brands and nipples. Now that I stopped and she's only feeding from a bottle, we can use any of them and she will eat (some still better than others).

I agree with above poster, though. If baby won't take a sip, I'd buy a different bottle that day.

  • Our determination for which one LO "liked" was not based on her taking them or not. It was how much she are versus let drool out her mouth. She puts anything in her mouth happily, so that was our only indicator of she was actually using the bottle correctly.

I tried each brand a couple times - maybe 2? Then moved on to the next. I tried one of the bottles again recently and she still drools it all out.
