FTM 10 weeks cramping

Hi everyone!  I've been lurking for a while.  Last week I started spotting brown blood, just a little when I used the bathroom (on the tissue, not enough to be on my underwear).  I emailed my OB and she said brown blood is old blood and not to worry.  This happened 4 days last week for a few hours each time and then stopped.  Well last night I woke up with cramps that felt like bad menstrual cramps.  It was so painful I 2 two tylenol, then it stopped and I was able to go back to sleep.  There was no bleeding while I had the cramping.
I hesitate to reach out to my OB again because I feel like she's going to tell me it's nothing, but somehow hearing that from you lovely ladies will make me feel better!
Anyone have experience with this?  I am scheduled to see my OB on Tuesday.

Re: FTM 10 weeks cramping

  • You did the right thing to call the OB with the spotting. I would have too, and this isn't the first time. I had a lot or cramping around 10 weeks too and it is (usually) just your expanding uterus stretching the surrounding structures. Round ligament pain is common around that time. If it doesn't stop, or is accompanied by blood, for sure call the doctor again. Don't worry about bugging them.

  • I agree with PP. I did some spotting of brown and pinkish blood around that time. But I had a horrible experience with the Hotline nurse. Turns out mine was just a slight UTI after having to go through my family doctor.

  • No experience, just wanted to say welcome the board and congratulations!
  • I'm a huge believer in calling your Dr!  IMO they are employed by you to provide a service and they should take your calls.

Having said that, I too had cramping with my first DD and my Dr told me it was normal as a lot is happening in the uterus and your body is getting used to the PG.

    Welcome and GL!

  • I never had spotting , but I did have severe cramps that terrified me also. If you are still hurting I would still give DR a call. Good luck and welcome!
