  • Up until the switch T was 11-12 hours, but now is down to 10 which is why I'm asking! :)

  • 11 hours has been pretty typical for us for quite awhile, but sometimes 10.

  • I voted 11-12, but she has been known to sleep 14. Especially after a few days in a row at daycare.

  • Also, all: https://www.webmd.com/parenting/guide/sleep-children

Makes me feel better that the daily sleep (night + naps) should be between 12-14 hours, though many only get 10 and are a-okay!

  • I voted 11-12 hours which is how long she sleeps if she isn't teething. She is sprouting 2 teeth right now so it's been 10 hours the last few days :/

  • @chrissynena‌ I get it! DS is actually a good sleeper, too, and will sometimes still take 2 naps on weekends! He was taking 3 naps a day past 1 year old! The toddler bed transition definitely messed his sleep length up, though. Don't whisper, that's fantastic!

(Whispers) yes. At daycare she naps about an hour, but days that she is home she naps about 3 hours. I don't comment much on sleep threads as I know we are extremely lucky. I hope our new babies sleep just as well. Fingers crossed.

I'm right there with you @chrissynena‌! DS often has a 3 hour nap on weekends, and usually an hour at daycare m-f. I feel it's just his way of reooperating from all the hard playing! I too am hoping this next LO sleeps well like his brother!

  • If DD sleeps hard and I don't hear her then she puts in ten hours. If she is more restless it becomes more. She consistently naps two plus hours a day, often near three, so I an ok with the shorter night sleep as long as her nap brings up the total :-)

DD usually sleeps about 630 PM to 7-715 AM and takes a 2-2.5 hour nap in the afternoon.
  • DS sleeps about 10.5 hours at night (8 pm to 6:30 am), but does wake up about twice. We go in and snuggle next to him and he falls back asleep. He used to nap about 2 hours, but has been only napping 1 hour most days this week. Then he is cranky before bedtime. Ugh. I hope he goes back to 2 hours, we would all be much happier then.

  • @slh33 I'm actually really surprised with the answers! I thought we were one of the great sleepers and I was only concerned because T's sleeping has been dropping below 10 hours and he is MISERABLE. I've read a lot of info on this now and if your toddler isn't acting overly tired and is getting around 10 hours a day (night plus nap), it's considered "normal." Haha, whatever that is.

  • @slh33 I honestly have no idea how DS stays awake until 12:15 at daycare - and they tell me he is always the last one to go down. On weekends he naps by 10:30 and will sometimes take a 2nd nap around 3 (like an hour, maybe), though he's been cutting out the 2nd one so I've been trying to push back his "normal" nap. He is just so tired by like 10AM! The one thing I've kept consistent is bedtime - he always goes down between 7:30 and 8. Also - not sure if there really is a normal, but maybe we will find out some day! ;)
