30 weeks now - baby is breech- they are already scheduling c section

Hi all,
I am 30 weeks and todays ultrasound showed baby is breech so they are already scheduling a c section when ill be 39w. I feel its soo early and i hope it wont be necessary but i understand they r making pre cautions however part of me thinks its just convenient for the doc which is annoying to me. Is this common practice?

  • @KatieKarasin‌ supposedly thats the pracice at this office and hospital. Apparently if baby is breech by 37-38 w they wouldnt want me to go to labor on my own as it could be emeregency c section and dangerous. :( im considering if i should get 2nd opinion but i feel it seems way too early even now i feel.
  • It is way too early for that. Maybe they just want to make sure you're on a schedule in case baby doesn't flip. But you do have plenty of time to get baby to turn.

  • Way too early. Baby was breech at 29w and a week later had flipped. I would tell them when they schedule it that you aren't agreeing to the c section unless baby still hasn't flipped at 40w. I know people that were still breech at 40w and flipped days later.

  • I will talk to them at next appt. While i want to go naturally i want the best and safest delivery for my baby
  • Maybe they're just scheduling to be prepared. That baby could flip any time. I wouldnt worry too much.

  • Have you tried any of the techniques to flip the baby? I tried them. She was head down at an ultrasound and breech at the next one. Back and forth! I was getting worried too but she is head down at last one. Hopefully she doesn't flip again.

  • @aries21‌ I had a hard time doing them. I tried one where you are upside down in your head with knees on chair. I can't even roll in bed. Wth!!!

Yes those are soo hard right now. Im doing the one on the knees, rocking, on the ball, pillow under hips...
  • I'd recommend visiting a chiropractor. There are specific adjustment techniques they do have babies move from breach to optimal position. You still have time for baby to change position. Best of luck!
