WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS CYCLE? (natural, meds, IVF, etc) on our own

HOW ARE YOU FEELING? Anxious, more so than previous cycles, probably just feeling like time is slipping away for some reason.

QOTW:  Have you disclosed to family or friends that you are TTC after 40?   What has the reception been?  Oh dear God no!  My family would go bonkers if I verbalized we are ttc.!  I have two close friends I'm considering telling.  They are both pregnant right now.  One tried for a year + and cycle before she stepped to IUI's, but she is young (27), the second is 36 and hers is a surprise but shock worn out welcome!  I know they would be supportive I am just trying to hold it in for a  bit longer.

My second post (after intro) here goes:
I'm Mags in Canada
TTC #1 since July
Cycle day - hard to say. My cycle has been all over the map since going off the pill in July. FF says CD 31 and I feel as though AF is near.
What are you doing? Just natural for now, no meds yet.
How are you feeling? I feel like I'm still learning SO much about this fertility thing and cautiously excited about the whole idea.
QOTW -(what does that stand for?) I just got married and family and friends were all asking before the wedding if we wanted kids so people know but haven't said much yet except close family.
Very good friend is going through very tough time with multiple losses and is understandingly negative right now but trying to remain positive.

CYCLE DAY: 13

WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS CYCLE? (natural, meds, IVF, etc) IUI yesterday.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING? Fairly optimistic, and very ready to be done with sex for a while (in addition to the IUI, it was suggested that we try--daily--on our own for what turned out to be kind of a long fertile window).

QOTW:  Have you disclosed to family or friends that you are TTC after 40?   What has the reception been?  Well, DD is only 1 and was born when I was 39, so nobody who knows is too surprised.  My mom, sister, and a couple of friends know we're trying, but I haven't given them too many details about what that entails.

We're trying to get all the answers we can. I've had my CD3 blood work done and my HSG. BF has had his SA done also.
So we're BD as much as possible. I'm also doing OPK, temping, charting, acupuncture and chiropractor (My acupuncturist recommended it for fertility too. I had no idea but am willing to give it a try if it will help.)

Feeling hopeful. I'm still early in my cycle so we'll see.

QOTW:  I told close friends early on and everyone was very supportive. But I regret it a little since I keep getting the "How's it going?" and "Are you pregnant yet?" questions. I should have waited but oh well. I just told my parents 2 weeks ago, they are a little old fashioned and we're not married yet, because I wasn't sure how they'd respond. My mom was very excited and my dad was a little confused as to our reasons why we don't just get married first. Since we just bought a house 3 months ago and are trying to get pregnant we think the wedding would put a lot more stress on us that we don't need right now. He's still not sold but once he has a new grandbaby he'll be fine. But he may be a pain in the ass till then. HAHA

Just wanted to tell you a funny story
My SIL had friends from Australia stay with them this summer for two weeks. We spent a lot of time together during their visit and they were obsessed with my accent. Apparently mine is very strong ( it really is) and they would call my cell just to hear me talk. One of them recorded me so she could listen when they got home. My new name was LIL- Long Island Liz.
They are even trying to get me to move to Australia. Pretty funny just so I can say caufee.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING? Hope continues to wane, just had another monitoring appt - down to 1 precious follie (2nd isn't growing well)

QOTW:  Have you disclosed to family or friends that you are TTC after 40?   What has the reception been?  My parents know and my sister & her husband know.  Interestingly, my sister is also going through infertility procedures also.  She'll be 40 next month and will be starting IVF#2 in a couple of weeks.  Both of us trying for #1.  So tons of support in my family!!!  Some close friends know too and have been super supportive.

@hooligans4 that's hysterical. When I lived in Colorado no one believed I was from NY until I said on of those words. I used to tell everyone we don't sound like the accents of the Amy Fisher/Joey Botafucco made for tv dramas. One person actually asked me if I was from NY because I walk fast.

Hey I'm a little late but want to join in if I can. I'll be 40 in February. We are TTC #2 but still trying to get my postpartum cycle back.

Just getting started with acupuncture this week and may start some natural supps if I am able to stop nursing completely. Planning to meet with an RE to see if we can do some fertility testing. I figured it'd be better to start with them than my reg OB since they would require me to redo any testing if I had to switch over.

QOTW: my dad just asked me last week if we were trying for #2 and I said "I think we will". He sounded completely shocked and concerned that something could go wrong. He didn't come right out and say it was due to my age but it was pretty obvious. My feelings were super hurt but I just let it go. I don't feel like I need to defend our decision.

Sorry I'm late to the party....

TTC#1 for us, #3 for me  since just starting again took a break to have a wedding.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS CYCLE? (natural, meds, IVF, etc) NPNT

HOW ARE YOU FEELING? Trying really hard not to get excited. Our approach was to "see what happens" but I'm so Type A it's hard for me to have a goal and not go overboard to make it happen.  DH is so worried about me and what if things don't go ok because of our age, etc... and I am not the worrier.  It's good because it keeps me positive to reassure him, but at the same time... I need my turn to worry about things that aren't going to happen so I appreciate all of you for giving me an avenue to really express what I am thinking.  

QOTW:  Have you disclosed to family or friends that you are TTC after 40?   What has the reception been?  I did to a few close family and friends when we were going this route back in November/ December before we took our break.  Everyone was supportive (I knew the ones I told would be).  My mom was the only hesistant one.  I had some craziness with DS #2 because I became anemic so that scares her a bit but she's still supportive... just will probably worry the begeezus out of me if it actually happens to test and check everything.

I'm so sorry.  Forgive my ignorance of IVF (although I'll probably be doing it myself next cycle), but is it possible the 2nd one will rally, or that they can recruit others?  FX for you.

CYCLE DAY: CD28/12DPO

WHAT ARE YOU DOING THIS CYCLE? (natural, meds, IVF, etc): I did Clomid this month, however just did a blood test yesterday and it was negative, so just waiting for CD1 now. Should be here tomorrow.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING? To be honest, totally bummed. I have 900 people in my life (including best friends and close neighbors) who are pregnant. Most of them didn't struggle at all. And here I am... I planned, I charted, and still no baby. I had a rough pregnancy/birth with #1 and he spent NICU time and has had 5 surgeries since his birth. I just feel slighted sometimes that no one I know has gone through what I have gone through and STILL had fertility issues. Everyone assured me #2 would be easy. Wrong

QOTW:  Have you disclosed to family or friends that you are TTC after 40? What has the reception been? Not to family, but my closer friends know. It's NBD that I'm over 40, however I think most people assume we're no longer trying since #2 hasn't happened yet and I'm "of a certain age".

@Davie813 - as of this morning the lead was up to 15 and other just under 9, so it seems to be rallying a bit.  My thought is that it should grow enough (seeing it's jump in 2 days) to become viable.  I go back in again tomorrow (thank goodness it's less than an hour away and I can get there and to work on time) so we'll see if it picked up a couple more mm.
