Huge temp spike on CD6!?

So I have only been temping/charting for a month so I don't have long term data to go by, but last month seemed to follow a pretty clear pattern. This morning my temp spiked to post-O levels and I am only on CD6. Anyone have any insight? I didn't drink yesterday and I don't feel ill. I can't imagine I Oed 10 days early while on my period. WTF?

It's no big deal, just remember individual temps aren't that meaningful the overall pattern is important and being able to determine Ovulation with a thermal shift.  Just keep temping and charting!  Best wishes

Yes, that is true. It just surprised me. I took my temp twice to make sure I wasn't losing my mind.

I understand, I had a pre-O high temp this cycle too... I didn't sleep well that night so I attribute it to that.  Perhaps you tossed and turned? got up to go to the restroom?

No, that's the weird thing. Perfectly normal sleep, didn't get up, took it within 45 minutes of my "normal" time. Just a random spike I guess.

I'd chalk it up to who knows?  The body is a mystery sometimes.

I had the same thing happen around cd9 this month and was afraid it would screw up the real O spike pattern so I just dismissed it.....mine tends to have some odd readings too...was your timing a little different.? I noticed that with my fluctuations time of temp is sometimes the driver

having never temped before, I'm not much help, but I hope you get another (real?) spike closer to your "regular" cd!

@meredithcarole if you look at my current chart I had the same issue, but not just one day... Several days super high, then dropped to normal, then back to high and now back to normal again. I'd say the big problem will be trying to figure out cover line for O day but otherwise it apparently isn't a big deal. You will just have to try to pay better attention to CF this time if your temps stay higher or go back and forth like mine. Good luck. We'll go through this roller coaster together this month!
