FFFC

Saw this was started yet and I've got one this week... So here goes!

LO had a Bad tummy day on Tuesday and threw up lots, everywhere. He was doing good Wednesday morning, so we thought we'd be in the clear for his two month check up Wednesday evening, which includes his first round of shots. Well he got SUPER mad about the shots (who wouldn't) and DH scooped him up to comfort him.

FFFC#1: I was really jealous that I didn't get to be the one comforting him. I get to spend more time with LO and I should have been happy that DH got this moment with him

FFFC#2: DH gave him milk (maybe an ounce?) from a bottle to help soothe him and the second DH put him in the car seat, he threw up everywhere. I didn't feel guilty watching DH clean up the mess then or washing the car seat later

  • I'm considering giving my dogs to a family member....I'm emotional about it. They are small dogs and bark at everything and it wakes up Baylor. This morning one of them jumped on him and woke him up at 5am when dh opened the bedroom door. They pee and poop in the house every night because dh doesn't take them out or put them in their crate. This makes us argue andI'mtired of arguing about the dogs. All of these are totally trainable behaviors but it's impossible to get dh to get on board and be consistent. Which we also argue about....it just sucks.

  • @jensavicci‌ I haven't considered that. It's worth a try. The only way we'd give them away is if it was tho his parents who love them or my dad who literally lives in a farm...if my brother wasn't in college I'd give them to him. My brother loves the dogs more then the baby....I'm not giving them to just anyone.

Yea, give it a shot! We had plans of getting a puppy this year but decided not to because it was just going to be a lot of extra work especially with a newborn. So, my sister decided to keep the little guy and she's paid a house trainer to come and work with her. He's doing very well and actually caught on pretty quickly. Plus, the trainer has a very loving attitude towards the little guy. So, for you, it could be worth it!

    BARF.

My FFFC: I don't have child care today because my mom is taking care of my neices. I'm supposed to be working part time from home (3 hours a day) to get caught up before I go back full time in a few weeks. Instead I'm watching Kelly and Michael, bumping, ordering groceries and planning my walk route/schedule between feedings and picking up DS from school.

Pimples. scabs. And peeling skin. I secretly love peeling away all the skin and try to get the biggest piece possible. It's like a game.
Yesssssss. All the skin. I peel my lips and while it burns like a mutha afterwards, I am so satisfied when I get a big piece.

I have made no attempt whatsoever to lose the baby weight. I eat everything and lay around with my baby.

I complain to all of my friends and family about how fat I am.

I have made every attempt to gain weight, eating all the carbs because they are so delicious. I don't even care. I just tell myself I'll work on it when I start work.

I ate so many delicious Reese's pieces yesterday it made me sick.

Oh man I do this too! ( with the lips) it's terrible and DH hates it but it's so addicting. I really need to grow up and break that habit.

  • Background: LO was sleeping 8 hours a night, not quite through but good enough for me. Last few days she's been up every 2 hours so I'm tired. Last night, she'd leaked so I had to change her outfit as well and she screamed because she was cold. OH woke up, insisted it was a pain cry and stared at me like I should do something. I told him he was wrong, she's fine and to leave me alone unless he's going to feed her. He swore at me (he does when he's woken up at night).
I told him to sleep in the spare room for yelling at me and bugged him until he did.

Confession: I don't care he yelled at me, I just wanted to starfish. I'm also not sorry for bugging him, I'm tired dammit.
  • DD has a diaper rash that probably merits a trip to the pedi but I haven't taken her, choosing instead to try and clear it up at home (Triple Paste, wiping with only water, hydrocortisone, diaper-free time, etc). The prospect of hauling all three kids 30 minutes each way to the pedi and paying the $20 co-pay for him to tell me to just keep doing what I'm doing isn't at all tempting.

If you breastfeed you might try putting breastmilk on the rash, I swear that stuff is awesome. I just put some pumped milk on a cottonball and rub it on the rash and the next morning it was good.

I've also tried Desitin which works better on my DD than other brands. I hate going to the pedi and I don't have three kids or a 30 minute drive so I understand your hesitation!

Ugh, that would piss me off and I don't even like dogs all that much. Are they dogs you got together or were they your dogs before you married? I would think having to clean up pee and poop would be enough incentive to take the dogs out at night.

You know, I may just try the breast milk. I've always heard it's a cure-all but I've never tried it. Thanks!

  • It's been raining all week. Wednesday I walked to the daycare (8 minutes walk) from my house to go pick him up in his little buggy thing. I totally forgot an umbrella or a blanket to keep him dry. It started raining and we had to stand under an awning for 20 minutes while the rain slowed to a drizzle. I then covered him from the neck down in clean prefold diapers to try and keep him as dry as possible while I hobbled home.

  • I dropped LO as I was picking her up out of her swing yesterday. No clue how it happened. She just slipped! Luckily, she was only an inch or two above the seat and she didn't seem to notice that I traumatized her.
  • I'm in Boston for the week with LO and DH while he's working. We are going home tonight and he did zero packing of any of his stuff this morning before heading to his confernence. He smiled all lovingly at me, said I love you, will you pack my stuff, I will buy you a massage this weekend when we get home.

I was going to pack all his stuff anyway, even without him asking. Totally not going to tell him this so I can get my massage.
  • #2 I really wish I could remember last night's dream. I woke with with "Deep in the Heart of Texas" stuck in my head.

FFFC: If I am trying to blow my nose and can't get a booger out by blowing and it's too far up there that my finger can't reach I'll pull out the tweezers and a mirror and go after it that way. It's such a great feeling of victory when I get it.

Reading that really made me want to blow my nose.....

I returned to work this week and my parking pass still works. I haven't paid since May. I park in a poorly managed crappy lot about a block from my building. A lady sits in an office a few hours a day the last 3 days of the month and accepts cash/checks. I'm fairly certain they have absolutely no accounting system for who has a pass, the pass # and if they've paid.

I don't feel bad whatsoever that it still works and I'm not sure if I'm going to write a check for October...

  • I work two 12 hour night shirts a week, typically one week day and one weekend day. They nights I work during the week both kids go to a MDO 9:30-2:30 so I get about 4 hours of sleep while they are gone. This week I got a phone call from my daughters teacher asking if I was on my way since both kids were still there....it was 2:45 and I live 15 min from the church! I felt horrible! I must have turned off my alarm and kept on sleeping.. Thankfully the teachers were super nice and my babies didn't seem to be too bothered by it but I will now start putting my phone across the room on MDO days!

Best part....in my hurry to get out the door I put my husbands pants on instead of mine, I was in the car wondering why the hell they wouldn't button (he's a cross country runner and I'm totally not)
