Trouble TTC

Please help.

Ladies, I need help.
I've just had laparoscopic surgery a week ago to remove two cyat from both ovaries, a cyst from each. They also did a d&c right then, too. So before hand I was never regular with my periods at all. However, my fiancé and I are trying to conceive. can anyone tell me what my chances may be now? After the surgery. We just tried tonight to see how things turn out but I was wanting to ask yall in advance. Please respond ASAP. Thanks,
Emily

Re: Please help.

  • There are so many variables that impact your odds of getting pregnant.  A healthy, young couple with no issues whatsoever only has a 15-20% chance every cycle.  Unfortunately, we can't tell you much more than that especially with the info you have provided. Have you been diagnosed with PCOS?  Are you doing anything to pinpoint ovulation like using OPKs or taking your BBT?

Also, did your doctor give you the ok to TTC already?  It seems like a week after this type of surgery would be much too soon...

Make sure you take the time to read the newbie blog at the top of the forum!

  • Serious question:
Were you cleared by your dr to have sex so soon after the d&c?

    4 Losses (2003, 2008, Apr 2012, & Oct 2012)
All RPL and IF testing with multiple REs = normal

    5 IUIs = BFN

    All AL are welcome

  • The poster above have made very valid points. Your risk for infection so soon after that procedure is great. Please check with your MD to ensure sex so soon is safe ;) Best wishes.

  • @lindy04aggie Troll Assassin here.  @Roebuck96 a few words of advice, read the newbie blog, call your doctor and don't write for pp to respond ASAP, especially if you aren't planning on checking back, it's kinda rude.  Sorry if I'm coming across bitchy, I'm not trying to be. Good luck.

  • How the heck do you BD a week after a lap and D&C? Clearly you are dedicated to conceiving so I really hope you get your BFP soon! But it's really not safe or healthy, you have to heal enough first, both your incisions and, more importantly, your cervix/ute before introducing anything foreign there, with the potential for injury or infection.

Please call your doctor to check on your recovery schedule, and most likely he/she will want you to come in for a follow-up after surgery which would be a great time to ask what improvement the surgery will have for your chances.

Next time you ask strangers to respond to your question "ASAP," I hope they are as kind and forgiving as we are here on 3T.
