Re: Toddler tantrums

  • First time was at the hospital whe was dealing with stones my husband took her outside so she coułd walk around and calm down she was throwing her self on the ground then running away from him so he would hold her on his lap and she would scream bloody murder and bit and kick thing like that and when it gets real bad she will start screaming " your hurting me " but we are never doing anything to hurt her I just don't understand what's going in she has never been around other kids that do this or seen this befor

  • Every time the cops are involved it's whe we are in public they have never been to our home
  • She stay with me most the time and I'll take her to a private daycare with a couple other kids once or twice a week for the Interaction she only does it with me and my husband so far it's been going on for about a year an a half and it start if we scold her for something anything from hitting the dog to saying something bad it's nothing particular that set her off
  • Me and my husband are the same with her if anything I'm more strick with it but it most with me but I'll talk to her doc and see what they say
  • Ty and I will look into the 1,2,3 magic
  • Okay I'll look that up ty
  • Not sure what that means
  • It also sounds like you're continuing to engage her while she escalates - giving her negative attention. My 4.5yo consistently pushes boundaries just to make sure they'll be the same. It takes A LOT of consistency and even then, he will still test them.

I try not to yell or get emotional and just stay matter-of-fact. I don't try and restrain him (he's a hitter and a thrower) but will remove him from the situation and take away anything that could become a projectile.

Also agree w everyone about the book recs.

  • Do you have a period key on your keyboard? A comma? Something.....

I'm getting the feeling OP is a non native speaker of English? I teach ESOL and OPS writing errors are very typical of a non native speaker (some languages use very long sentences with embedded clauses, sub verb agreement, etc).

If, however, this is not the case then PERIODS MY FRIEND, PERIODS.
