I've never had wine. Someone should suggest one I'll love so I can try it.
Wine is so subjective. I would suggest starting with a sweet white wine and work your way through the whites. So try a reisling- anything by Yellow Tail is a decent start and inexpensive so you aren't dropping a ton of dough on something you might hate. Then try a Pinot Grigio. Then do a Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay. Reisling (make sure it doesn't say it is dry, you want a sweet one) is a great sweet one to start with.
Stella Rosa rosso is a good starter wine too! I love so many it's hard to list. My parents and I have expensive taste, I love going to dinner with them for this reason

I'd start with a Riesling.
I think she should start out with a moscato?? Don't ya think???? Moscatos are the sweetest of the whites and a good wine to start. Cupcake has a good moscato and Barefoot.
@chicki1012 Moscatos are good and sweet and definitely a good wine to start with. I never did drink the pink wines a lot...not that I have anything against them, but when I started drinking wine, I was working at a restaurant with a reputation for only selling and serving fine wines and pink wines were shunned, thus I was never exposed to them properly. The school of thought was that sweet, pink wines were trashy. I dunno, I like them, just haven't ever shook that mentality though.
I use to drink white Zinfandel in college. The thought of it grosses me out now.
I've upgraded thankfully. I like white but drink red too because of it's health properties. Favorites are Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Malbec.
@amt0312 -They make these blends now with Pinior Nior, Malbec, and Shiraz, which may work for you to try another Pinior Nior. I have it but I can't remember the brand right now.
@SandFHasse -I agree with pps. Moscato is good if you like sweet grape juice tasting wine. And Riesling is light, and sparkly tasting.
Should I maybe just get one of each? Make it a wine tasting weekend/recovery from birthday event?
Yes I would get both!!!! I never use to drink wine until DH and I went to a winery and did some tastings. I loved wine ever since. The more often u drink it the more u will like it and get use to the taste. Yummy!!!
@SandFHasse be careful with drinking too much sweet wine! They tend to give worse hangovers than the dry wines, so make sure you drink tons of water too.
