I've seen a lot of people ask about diaper pail odors. I am using an open dry system and my bathroom was smelling like pee. I found a suggestion that's working really well so I thought I'd share.
Take a small plastic container with a lid and poke holes in the lid (I used a sandwich meat container). Fill halfway with white vinegar and add a couple drops of both tea tree oil and lavender oil. Place a sponge inside and snap on the lid. Place this somewhere near your diaper pail. I was amazed how well this worked the very first day.

I'm intrigued.

How often do you change it out?  Doesn't the sponge get icky?

Would this work with just TTO, no lavender?  I adore the smell of TTO.  (Perhaps this should be a UO?)

I just recently started using TTO and I love the smell too.  I was hesitant ordering it online since I had no idea what is smelled like.  I got mixed reviews but went ahead and got it anyway.  Love it!

TTO is an antifungal and antibacterial if I remember correctly. So why not?

@Into+the+Kitty‌ what was the alcohol spray to remove horrid smells? Did you use full strength or diluted?

I will keep you posted on how often I need to change it out but the tutorial said when it stops working. I'm going to keep checking to see if the sponge gets icky but I think because it's vinegar with TTO it helps keep bacteria out. Yes you could use only TTO but the lavender adds a scent which helps balance out the odor. Try it with just TTO though and see if you like it. Let me know!
