January 2015 Moms

Most common birth dates

I thought it was kind of a cool graph - wanted to share.  Looks like our Jan babies are a little less likely to share their birthday with a lot of other people!

Myles was so pumped about the baby . . . until he figured out he'd have to share all his toys!!!

Re: Most common birth dates

  • Hahaha DS and this LO may have been "created" after weddings of our friends lol! My birthday lines up with Father's Day and two of my sisters line up with my mom's birthday and the other lines up with my parents anniversary! Although I find it surprising that September is the most popular birthday month, I would have thought sometime in the spring because that's naturally when many mammals reproduce and my Facebook is crazy busy with birthdays :)

  • September lines up with Christmastime as conception.... wait totally didn't want that thought today as it's my birthday!  Ewww!

  • That was a little interesting as I have 5 childhood friends with November 18th birthdays and that date isn't common on the chart...and it's 9 months after Valentine's Day:)...so i figured that part of the month would be more popular, I guess it was some weird occurrence in my elementary school??

  • I'm surprised there aren't more November babies because they would be conceived around Valentine's Day. My birthday is in November, so is my brother, dad, and grandfather. I really wanted to have a November baby but alas. God had other plans :)

  • @bwall84...I knew there had to be more!!  That's why the chart surprised me.  Everyone I know with a November 18th birthday is pretty awesome (especially since it's my best friend's birthday)...and i'm sure you are the same:)

  • DH's birthday is November 22nd - close enough! He's a pretty awesome guy :)

I know a TON of people with birthdays in mid-June (myself included).  Labor day conception? Back to school time? haha
  • I was a new year's baby (bday next week).

This little one? He's an Easter baby. We sent FI's swimmers on a little Easter egg hunt, apparently!
We conceived my first son on Easter. I was so bored watching the masters lol He was born a couple days early on December 30th.

It makes me giggle thinking about how busy we got during Holy Week with it being my fertile week.

  • Interestingly this jives with what our L&D nurse said.  At our hospital they normally deliver 50-60 babys/month except in July, Aug and Sept when it is normally over 80.  My b-day is at the end of April which doesn't line up with much in my family, but I did have 2 cousins with the same b-day, my co-lab mate in grad school with the same b-day and an undergraduate who now works with me with the same b-day.

  • DD1's b-day is September 15 - she missed the most popular day by one day! DD2 was originally due on November 18 based on my LMP, but I had ovulated late and her due date was pushed back 10 days. She ended up being born on November 23..

Mine have all been scheduled c/s though so who knows when they would have come on their own.

  • SO's dad claims that he was a "farewell" baby for deer season.  he was born in late august.  it works out, if his mom was a little overdue.  DS was born on march 31, which looks like it's middling, but he was due in late april which is less common.  my own birthdate in april is less common.

  • I would like to see a version of this chart that doesn't include inductions or planned c-sections. Not that anything's wrong with either of those things, but I'm just curious.

I'm pretty sure this LO was conceived on or around Easter.
  • Wow January is really not a common month! That's kind of nice so our babies will feel special for their birthdays
  • No, what it means is I live in the northern hemisphere and I have no desire to be 9m pregnant in July or August.  lol.
