Creative projects you've done while lo is at MDO?

Lo is three now and is now attending an MDo for 3 hours, two days a week. For some odd reason I feel the need to use my time in the most efficient way possible, or at least creatively. I am currently working out for the first hour, then reading or making an errand or two. Honestly I'd rather not go home and clean....I like doing it throughout the week. I would also not like to shop all the time. As I make a list for myself of sort of a bucket list of tugs to do during this time....I start to think what other creative things have you done while they're at school? I will mention sometimes I feel like my mind is not as stimulated as it should be. This may be from missing work a bit. Please share any great ideas y might have;) I haven't been in here in a long while...but hopefully with this little bit of time now I can join the boards again;)

  • Heehee....I know it's the easiest thing to do but I just feel like I am often times begging for time to "do projects" and it's like now that I have a little.....I' don't even know where to begin. Lol ;) looks like I may be on here more often.

  • I would probably get myself a nice big Starbucks and either walk around the mall, walk around Chapters, walk in a park, sit on a bench in a park, or just sit in my car and enjoy it in peace. Productive? Maybe not so much. Enjoyable and relaxing? Absolutely.

  • Sleep, workout, lunch with friends, shopping. These are my top MDO time choices.
  • DS doesn't go to preschool or anything yet, but I have a few hours of naptime a day.  Some days I do nothing - tv, computer, read, veg.  Other days I may sew something, work on art projects, etc.  I'm one of those damn crafty people so it's usually just fun stuff that I enjoy doing.  Or home projects - the other week I took down all of our shutters and door (well, H and I took them down) and I refinished and painted them all, then H helped me put them all back up.  I also painted our entire chicken coop and finished up some outside art from pieces of our OLD chicken coop that we took apart :P

Yea....but I'm kind of a dork like that haha.  These next couple weeks I'm going to be finishing up adding some embellishments to bridesmaids dresses for my sister's wedding; I'm procrastinating with it though because it's something I HAVE to do, which means, meh, I don't want to do it.
  • Back when it was just DD1 at preschool, coffee and The Today Show was as project-y as it got.  :-)
I have been on a fall cleaning kick and and am evaluating each floor of our house and what needs to be done.   So far I have cleaned and organized the pantry, re-arranged the family room, and organized and de-cluttered the playroom.  I still need to clean out and organize the foyer closet.  Stuff like that.  But coffee and tv usually wins out.

  • I do watch my shoes sometimes. I also sew (usually dresses for b), paint...I made quiet books for church, I work on our photo albums...I do seasonal crafts for the house (sometimes) or get stuff together for future projects with the kids. Some people do knitting, pottery, read a book?
What do you watch them do?
Hahaha! Shows. My shoes watch shows.
Is it bad that I thought sitting and watching your shoes was an entirely acceptable and appropriate thing to do during MDO off?

  • I am like in extreame neating mood or thing. I have been going through every nox in my basement and throwing away or donating pretty much everything. I also completely cleaned out all the closets.
  • It's called Mother's Day Out, not Mother's Day to do Pinterest Projects. I go get pedicures, grocery shop, have lunch with friends, SIT, play on my computer...
  • Today I cleaned the inside of my car when DD was at preschool.  I like to catch up on chores/shop/business catch up when DD is away
