Trouble TTC a Sibling

Endo anyone??

Those of you with Endometriosis what things are your docs doing to help you get pregnant?? I had my 3rd lap in June and still have not been able to get pregnant. I'm heading back to the doc next month.

Re: Endo anyone??

  • My doctor completely dismissed my endo because I had one child and "am only 27". Sooo needless to say I am seeing a new doc this month

  • I think I would be seeing a new doc too!

  • My ob didn't think my endo was causing the problems. My RE is more skeptical but running a million tests at once so I don't know which is for what. I'm at the beginning of the diagnosing stage since I procrastinated seeing an RE for so long. I had a lap in 2008 after being diagnosed.

  • I was diagnosed with stage I endometriosis three years ago during a laparoscopy. I also have DOR and an LP defect so my endo is the least of my worries. I used Femara and gonal-f to get pregnant with my twins but I don't think the endo had much to do with it.

  • During a recent hysteroscopy and ultrasound as part of my fertility work-up, my RE saw a cyst that he believes to be an endometrioma on my left ovary. Endo can only be definitively diagnosed with a laparoscopy, so I only have "suspected endo." But my RE advised against a lap procedure for me because he fears that messing around surgically with my ovary would do more harm than good in terms of ovarian reserve. I'm 35 and have never had pain or any other typical endo symptoms.

Due to my age and the suspected endo, my RE changed his plan recommendation for us from "just try on your own for 8 more months" to "let's move on to medicated cycles." So I start with Femara next cycle, with trigger and either IUI or TI. We're still trying to decide.

  • I had my 2nd lap 11 months before we got our BFP for DD. It's a long time to deal with disappointment, but it did work.

The first GYN that "diagnosed" me (he never told me it could be endometriosis, never did a laparascopy) just said that I'd never be able to have kids. It wasn't until 6 years later, I found a better OB/GYN who actually listened to my symptoms and did an exploratory laparascopy. I was stage 3 and had to go under again a year later. His advice was to try to have all my kids before I was 30.

TTC #2 for the last 10 months and my endo hurts me more every month. If nothing happens by November, I'm going in for yet another lap.

Good luck! Let me know what tips your doc gives you!
