Potty Training-using public restrooms

Sparks in training!

Going on a road trip next month and we are well into our potty traning... i'm having nightmares already about potty breaks in THOSE lovely gas station restrooms! I will use pulls up during the trip in case of accidents, but any ideas on products that can  be used to make things as sanitary as possible?

I avoided using public restrooms when DS1 was first trained and brought a portable potty seat along with me...it is called the Pottette.  It has little legs that fold out, bags that come with it and then it just folds right back up and can be stored in a bag in the trunk.  I kept a travel pack of Lysol wipes with me and just wiped it down, found a trash can to toss the bag and we went on our way.

We use Porta-Potties and public restrooms all summer/fall long. I will often just put some hand sanitizer on some tp and rub it on the toilet seat. A lot of gas station restrooms are now putting "toilet seat sanitizer foam" above the toilet and you do the same thing with a piece of tp. They are doing that instead of those seat covers.

I hold my little one above the toilet (its a pain!) or if not too nasty I just lay toilet paper around the top. If on a road trip, a portable potty is a good suggestion

We have a travel seat that fits right on top of the actual toilet seat. It's the ONLY way we can get Tenley to use public restrooms anywhere! They have some that conveniently fold up too so that you can avoid the awkwarness of carrying a toilet seat through a restaurant, travel stop, etc.
