For me...stripes. Everyone knows vertical stripes slim you and horizontal stripes just make you look fatter. So, why can I NEVER find any sweaters/shirts with vertical stripes? How hard would it be to turn that fabric sideways and make a damn sweater that doesn't make you look fatter??
Speaking of fat. Why is so damn easy (and enjoyable) to accumulate fat and so much work to get rid of it? :-q
Cheap ass companies who don't invest in needed improvements. My computer at work is SO SLOW it's painful some days. Even the IT guy sits here saying "Man, your computer is slow." Yeah, thanks for pointing that out for me. I keep hearing how I'll get a new one soon. Still waiting.....
People who sell shit on facebook garage sale sites without taking 15 seconds to wipe the stuff down. Seriously? Who wants your nasty looking whatever it is your selling? I don't want to buy your filth! That's nasty. There is this woman currently advertising tubs full of kids clothes. None of it is sorted and it looks like she took about 3 loads of laundry out of her dryer and dumped it in each tub. Maybe the stuff is clean but it doesn't look like it and her pictures sure don't give that impression. I think there are 3 tubs overflowing with clothes and she's asking $50 for all of it. Pass.
I hate the way my dad says "milk chocolate". It is the weirdest thing to be irritated by but he emphasizes the hard consonants and it sounds like he's also clearing his throat when he does that. Drives me fucking batty! Oh, and his nickname for DD is "kablukie". I keep telling him he needs to use real words and he tries to tell me that "kablukie" is a real word. No. It is not. At least not in English, I haven't check any other language.
When people tell me they'll be by at a certain time and then don't show up. Or change their plans and don't tell me that they'll be by at a later time because of the change of plans. "oh, sorry, I forgot I had to do something, I'll be by later" about a half hour after the time they told me they'd be by. Don't fucking bother coming over if you can't commit to a time frame. I have a child that I have to take care of and if you come over during the bedtime routine, then you're basically coming over to watch TV while I get this shit done. Fuck. Off. Oh, wait, now you want to know if we can leave my house to go do something? Sure, let me just leave my child home alone or with an elderly person who can't hear the baby monitor to go hang out at a bar that I don't have the desire to be at. Sounds fun.
What irritates me is whenever I take the car in for service, the guys there try to tell me "oh you need this, you need that" blah blah blah blah. Okay guys, I know I am a female, I don't have a penis or whatever but I do understand my vehicle and know what it needs. I know how to check my oil, I know how to add oil and change it and would be doing it my damn self if I had the place to do it. I also understand all my fluids and where they go, how to check them. My daddy didn't raise a fool and taught me well. My tires are FINE, my radiator and hoses are FINE, my transmission fluid is FINE, my spark plugs were just changed. Just do what I am paying you to do and be done with it already.
I also just love my older son's paternal grandmother trying to tell me what doctor to go to, what to eat during my pregnancy and how much weight I need to gain. Telling me what to buy for my new lil one (mind you this is NOT her grandchild), what to name him, very insistent that he is actually a she because she wants my son to have a little sister (my son wants a brother anyway). Granted yes I understand she cares about me, but she hovers and I'm 1400 miles away!! She even has her daughter that lives up here convinced that said daughter will be taking me to her doctor over 45 minutes away from where I live because "she's the best doctor around". Ummm isn't my doctor, the one who will deliver MY child, my choice?? As much as I love her and she has always treated me like her daughter, I can't stand the hovering. My own mother doesn't even do this to me. Part of it is her love for me and the other part is her still trying to control me as she always has. Drives me up a wall!!!!!!!!
OMG, my BD's mom is nicknamed the "grandSmother" because she lives 1300 miles away but is nit-picky and a pain in my ass! She needs to know everything, and when DD gets the *slightest* runny nose, she expects me to go running to the doctor to fix it. And, she used to be a nurse, for Christ's sake. A runny nose could mean ANYTHING, especially if it's not coupled with anything else. I'm not going to go run to the doctor who will just roll his eyes and say "it's a runny nose."
OMG!! They sound identical!! Her son has another son by a different woman (who I am friends with now, go figure) that the littlest thing that may be wrong with him she is just like "Well C should be taking him to the doctor, she doesn't know what she's doing". Son's grandmother was ALSO a nurse, a pediatric nurse at that!! HOWEVER, when MY son gets a cold, he doesn't need to go to the doctor every time. My son also has asthma and seems to get pneumonia every time the poor kid gets a cold.
