Which diagnostic/screening combos are you opting for?

I'm scheduled to do the NT Scan tomorrow. I honestly don't know what it would change for us. I've never been in a position to decide before and I'm just winging it at this point.

This screening isn't diagnostic, it can only give odds (1 in 400 chance, etc) so it will just help us decide if we want to do the 2nd trimester screening to find out more information. Insurance will pay for the NT screening and then further screening if it is deemed necessary, so we will see how it goes tomorrow.

Can someone please educate me? I was under the impression that things like Down syndrome and spina bifida and heart defects could be caught at the A/S, thus giving one ample opportunity to find and make sure doctors are available at the birth. Is this incorrect?

Anyway, not doing any testing, but my OB does a 12 week us (for me will be on the 3rd) so maybe she does an NT scan? :-??
