This is a weekly check-in for PAIF members in their second trimester.
You can feel free to join at 14 weeks and we will bid you an excited
farewell on your way to 3rd Tri after 27 weeks
.
*** Someone pointed out that you can technically stay until your 27th week is DONE, whereas I've been wishing people farewell when they hit 27 weeks. I guess whatever everyone else thinks or wants to do? I'll keep doing it, and use your 27th week as an overlap week? ***If there are any newcomers that would like to be added to the list, post below and include your EDD.
- How far along are you this week?
- Any appointments or other updates?
Also, please let me know if I have your “team” listed correctly or if it needs to be updated.
QOTW: What have you been craving, or what's your favorite food? Bonus for PIP to make me drool!
***Graduating to the 3rd Tri next week!!! Good Luck! ***

Re: ~*~ 2nd Tri Check-in (9/17) ~*~
Also, I have been battling a stomach bug for two days now - every time I eat something, it results in a quick dash to the bathroom an hour or so later, where I miserably spend the next 30 minutes or so. I think I ate bad scallops the other night.
All is well here - a week from Thursday I'll be flying up to go to my shower!!!!! So surreal and exciting. Since it's long distance, most people are shipping gifts here and just bringing pictures of their gift to the shower, which I appreciate.
However, the plan was to keep all gifts in their boxes in the nursery until after the shower - well, DH didn't like that plan, apparently!
While I was working on Saturday, he single handedly dragged our queen sized mattress & box spring out of that room, disassembled the bed frame, put it all on Craigslist to sell (it sold yesterday). He emptied the closet and moved all the boxes stored there (my art supplies) up to the attic. Then he disassembled our glider/recliner that was in the living room, put it back together in the nursery, and then proceeded to open the gifts we've gotten so far and assemble those! So we have the Pack 'n Play fully assembled where the crib will go, and it's all starting to look a lot more like a nursery! It made me cry when I walked in, I was so happy and surprised.
He's promised not to open anything else, except he reserves the right to assemble the crib if it arrives (it's on our registry, and if no one buys it for next week, we're going to order it anyway). Silly impatient wonderful man!
QOTW: I've been having a thing for ice cream floats. My tummy really doesn't like it at the moment with this stomach bug, but man are they delicious!
Most specifically, I've been having A&W Cream Soda with Haagan Daaz Vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmm!!!!
There's something about the frothy creamy bubbles from the float, and the slight iciness to the ice cream that's left, that's just divine!

I'll be taking my GD test tomorrow. I'm nervous. Hope it goes well.
Other than that, we got the crib together last weekend and our wall decals for the nursery came yesterday. Excited to put them up. We still need to find a rug. Didn't realize how difficult it would be to find a nice rug for the nursery! We want one that not only looks good, but would be nice and soft for baby to lay on.
Here is our work so far!
Ok, going to try to insert a picture for the first time. Read to host it on shutterfly, hope this works! lol failed first time, lets try again. I can't figure it out and never seem to be able to upload pics. Help?!

Im 24w2d now. I have an appt this afternoon. Im getting mentally geared up for the glucose test. Pretty sure I'll be given paperwork for that today. Im kinda worried, I feel huge. Ive gained 20lbs which I think is normalish, so we shall see.
Ive been craving french fries and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Ive acted on the fries but have held off on cookies. For awhile all I wanted was fruit and carne asada- so thankful I live in California. Peaches and burritos! Haha.

I've been craving fruit and sweets. Trying to focus in the fruit and not donuts!
I do love that website. Don't let the initial prices fool you - put it in your basket and add the code it tells you to for that specific rug. A $900 rug instantly becomes $180 with the discount code! With free shipping! No joke.
Just be sure to read reviews if they have any, and double check the material of the rug. I was told that wool is best for babies because (while not quite as soft as the polyester blends), it cleans up really easily, doesn't stain, and has fewer chemicals and off gassing.
Our wool rug sheds like crazy - fills a whole vaccum with fluff every time! But It's really comfy and soft and I love it. DH has already spilled a glass of red wine and it came right up!
We got THIS ONE:
The reviews warned the gray one looked more blue-gray than stone gray, which is absolutely true and I'm glad I knew that, but I love it a lot!

I am doing great at 20 weeks 1 day. I had both my OB and MFM appointments this week and the twins look great and I am doing well! I am measuring 25 weeks! My bump is huge but I guess normal for twin pregnancy!
My glucose test is 10/15 at my 24 week appointment then I start going in for every two week appointments- crazy! I am going to spend so much time in waiting rooms I need to download some new games on my phone!
QOTW: I have been craving milk pretty much the last few weeks. It has to be ice cold. Ice cream is also a craving but I am trying to just stick with a glass milk!

@southernyankeegirl Have so much fun at your shower!! You're DH sounds so sweet!! & I LOVE your rug!! Can you vacuum it w/ out pulling the wool out?
@jaytee16 I loved San Fran!! It's one of my favorite places. Def. ride the ferry to Sausilito (sp?) if its a nice day.. its beautiful.
@ksgsmu I'm 19w and my belly measured 24w!
AFM: I am 19w1d today. I met w/ my new OB yesterday for the first time. She was super sweet and spent 45 minutes w/ me. She had a little handheld doppler w/ what looked like an iphone attached to it. So I got to see the little ones for a minute. It was so great. I just started to feel them move around/kick this past Monday. Now I feel them all the time, it's amazing. Probably the best feeling ever. My next apt. is tmr for a cervical length check (weekly) & then my a/s is next Friday! DH hasn't seen the babes since 8w so I am sooo excited for him to see them moving around. He might cry lol.
QOTW: I really don't have any cravings. I'll say I don't crave chocolate like I used to. Although, chocolate milk does sound amazing any time of day!! I just bought the carnation milkshake things to get some extra protein and calcium... yummm.

AFM: I'm 22w today. The a/s last Thurs went ok. B/w the doc and tech, they were able to get the rest of what they were looking for but this girl is so stubborn or tired (she yawned in the middle of the appt - so cute!) and wouldn't move to get this last pic of the heart they wanted to get. So, they want me to come back but I don't know when yet or if I'll go. It's like I wanna c her again but I don't really wanna take another day off .. so I gotta think about it.
Also lately, she's been moving around a lot at night! And I love it! She's even woken me up 2x so far and it's great, really. My dh (now that he can feel her) seems to have his hand permanently on my stomach when we're in the same room - even if I'm sleeping. Lol! It's cute for now but I know at some point I will be like please stop.
Anyway, next appt is Oct 10 with OB.
Here's the pic (idk what I'm doing either - I'm trying to copy n paste from phone - I can't seem to get it .. )
QOTW : Chips and salsa or if I get bad heartburn, anything sweet. I want some chips now tho.

Hi ladies!
Today I am 26 weeks! I can't even believe that I'm almost in the 3rd tri. Time is going so fast now!
I have my 26 week appointment with the glucose test tomorrow. Instead of drinking the nasty drink, I get to eat a candy bar. That might be the highlight of my entire week! Sad, but true! DH and DS can feel the baby move and it freaks both of them out. They like watching my belly move, but would rather just watch. DH thinks she's hilarious with all of the ninja moves.
QOTW: I am craving milk like crazy. I am lactose intolerant and don't let myself have a lot of dairy because of my endo flaring when I do, but I've found the lactose-free milk and I've had more of that this trimester than I've ever drank in my entire life!

Cervix is "very long and closed" and there's plenty of fluid. Thank goodness! Then the u/s tech showed us our boy! I kept saying it was okay, as long as I knew he was okay, I didn't expect pictures. I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to milk a free ultrasound by faking BH concerns (I have a hard time with stuff like that). She was so sweet and said I was a worried Mama so she was going to give me a little reward!
So here's my son going, "Doh, Mom, don't worry so much!"

Thank you for the personal note @southernyankeegirl
Had a regular OB appt yesterday & she said my weight & BP looked good. I was relieved bc my weight jumped between weeks 10-14 & she said we would have to watch. I'm only 5'2 and have a petite frame, so I was happy to hear I'm back on track.
Anatomy scan is scheduled for Wednesday @ 9:15am. I will be happy when it's over, I get too worked up over those kind of appts.
My cravings are all over, but I mostly love salty snacks. Mmm those french fries look delicious up there!

IVF #1 never made it to transfer
On "egg health" cocktail DHEA/CoQ10/FRC/Pregnitude/Melatonin
Starting IVF #2 for Feb 2013

Cancelled mid-cycle due to high P4 levels early on.
OCPs again for IVF 2.5 mid-March. IVF 2.5 transferred two "gorgeous" 5-day blasts and BFFN. Even REI is baffled
On indefinite hold until a huge stroke of serendipity led me to IVF 3 May 2014
Testing found positive cardiolipins/APS, now on lovenox and intralipid infusions
Transfer of 2 5-day blasts and (FINALLY) BFFP!! 1st ultrasound shows two sacs and two HB, but one is sluggish, almost expecting vanishing twin Subsequent ultrasound confirmed vanishing twin, but my other Little critter looks fantastic!

Hi ladies! Sorry for the late post, my youngest sister got married this past weekend and so last week was filled with a lot of working late to make for the hours I was going to take off for the wedding and then the wedding itself consumed my entire weekend.
I’ll be 26 weeks tomorrow, 2 more weeks until I begin the final trimester!! I feel like this pregnancy is flying by! Tomorrow I have my final second trimester OB appointment followed by the dreaded 1 hour glucose screening. I’m also been going to physical therapy for my lower back and hips. These past few weeks the pain has slowly been worse and with working my M-F followed by my freelance job every weekend I haven’t been getting much sleep. The pregnancy pillow doesn’t help anymore and the sleep number bed doesn’t help either. So my OB recommended I go to PT once a week. I’ve only had 1 appointment, but so far the stretches and tricks my therapist gave me to relieve the pain have been helping a bit.
DH and I haven’t really been working on the nursery too much the past few weeks, but now that things are calming down we are going to start making the finishing touches over the next month. I’m hoping to have pics of the final results of our Harry Potter nursery around Thanksgiving.
I did attach a picture of some gifts we’ve received from family and friends so far and some little knick knacks we’re compiling to place around the room. The Nimbus 2000 was a present a friend hand made a few years ago and we are going to mount it on the wall above the dresser.
QOTW: DH says you can tell I’m pregnant with an Irish baby because my only craving has been potatoes. Doesn’t matter what kind of potato or how they are prepared I’ve been inhaling them in mass quantities!
