Introduction (Children mentioned)

Just wanted to say hello... making my way over from The Knot, I have 2 children already from a previous relationship (23 & almost 15) but DH has none. We had discussed because of our age NTNP last November (he was 42, I was 40) even though we weren't married (we'd been together 5 or so years) as my 5 years was up on Mirena. Then he proposed and we spent the last 9 months (irony?) planning and having a wonderful wedding so I was back on BC (was off for 8 weeks, lots of Baby Brain but just BFN so decided to go back on after I bought the dress). Now we are back to the TTC journey.

We are both worried about our age for so many reasons (ability to actually conceive, complications/risk, retirement, our health as the child gets older, etc) but he's always thought he'd have kids (though he is ok if we only have 1 and it isn't plural) and I've spent most of my life as a single mom and would really love to have and raise a child WITH him. It's amazing to be with someone who has the same parenting views as you, supports you, and is on the same page as you. I so wish I had had this in my 20s or 30s... but here I am, crossing my fingers that it's not too late to have that experience and feeling a little guilty and greedy for wanting more after having 2 healthy, successful, (mostly) grown children when so many don't even have one. But also, feeling like DH is one of those and he will be a wonderful dad.

I look forward to getting to know you and your stories. I was on another board during the short time we were TTC before but this one looks much more "my style".

I can relate to your story very much! Welcome and best wishes! You'll get great suggestions and lots of support here and I hope it helps during this exciting but sometimes emotionally difficult time!
