Trouble TTC

More labs .. Any info welcome!!

So I got the rest of my labs so if anybody has any info or any similar experiences I am all ears!!

So everything was pretty normal as far as my glucose, cholesterol, vit D, insulin, DHEA sulfate goes. Some of those i don't even know what they mean but they are in normal range so that's good.

My out of range values:

-androstenedione: 389 (high)

- testosterone, free: 12.0 (high)

-testosterone, total: 95 (high)

-varicella-zoster: <=0.9 (not immune)

So I think thAt those labs confirm my diagnosis of pcos and unfortunately I have to get a chicken pox booster which I'm sad about because that's Gona put off treatment a little longer :( luckily I work for a hospital that will give me it for free.

  • I don't have a similar experience, but just wanted to say good luck with everything! And boo to putting off treatment longer. That stinks.

  • Hey Razzy,

    My labs were lower than yours, but similar in the that I had high results for the same hormone levels - testosterone 53 and androstenedione 272 and .9 for my rubella check.  Those level combined with my PCO ovaries on the ultrasounds led to my PCOS diagnosis.

    The one piece of advice I would offer would be to have your rubella immunity re-checked before postponing anything.  I asked to have mine re-checked with my second set of bloodwork for CD3 and I came back in the immune range.  So, it's definitely worth another check, especially if you're already having blood drawn.

    Good luck!

    No advice, just wanted to commiserate.  I had to get the chicken pox vaccine and it put me back several months. FX for you!

  • I had the same 3 high hormone levels and my doctor used those results to help diagnose my PCOS. My insulin levels were also fine. Sorry about the chicken pox vaccine, hopefully you get that taken care of easily!

  • Looks like high androgens related to PCOS. :(

    Sorry you have to wait on the chicken pox vaccine. But, I am glad they caught this before you ended up with chicken pox as an adult - happened to MH on Christmas Eve one year, and he had 560 blisters - and they were eeeverywhere! (I counted while gently applying antiviral cream to each one 4x/day with a Qtip). The poor thing had to tie his arms to the bed post to prevent scratching all night. :(
