Thanks!  I'm sorry I didn't get on at all yesterday, it was just such a busy day and my ipad was worn out.

The ultrasound went well.  There's one baby (no surprise as we only transferred one), it measured 7wk1d and I was 6wk6d so that was good and there was a heartbeat, although my RE doesn't take an actual reading (which drives me bonkers as we all know there is a big difference between a heart beating at 120 vs 80.)  But, just seeing that there was indeed a live baby inside me helped me calm down for about 30 seconds. ;-)

This morning I saw my OB and he was very reassuring regarding my history of having had a Leep and my fear that I will develop cervical cancer over the course of this pregnancy.  He did a pap plus hpv test today and agreed to do another mid-pregnancy if I felt I wanted that reassurance and then he also said he would be frequently checking my cervix to make sure it's holding up okay.

He denied my request to be admitted to the hospital at 36 weeks just automatically so that I don't need to fear having the baby on the side of the road, or worse, at my office, but hey, I figure I have almost 30 weeks to wear him down and get him to agree.  And, I'm only half joking when I say that.

Woot woot!!! I am so excited for you! That is absolutely awesome news. I hope that you are able to relax, at least a bit, and enjoy your pregnancy for a while. I'm glad your OB let you know that he will be proactive with your HPV testing and cervical checks. I truly hope you don't end up delivering this LO on the side of the road, but on the upside, you are a pro at this baby birthing thing. You could probably deliver and then just keep it movin' at this point ;-) Congratulations!!

@JBDamonM  I sorta wanted him to say, oh, no worries, we'll just do a cerclage and everything will be fine but realistically I knew that wasn't going to happen.  But, I was comforted by him saying that he sees a ton of women who have had Leeps and it is 99% of the time no big deal and doesn't present any issues with their pregnancies. 

He first said something about checking it every four weeks and I must have gotten a look on my face because he immediately followed up with, or every two or three depending.  I think that might have also been the moment he began regretting taking me on as a patient ;-)  I'm not the type to call incessantly and stuff like that but I definitely go into my appointments knowing what I want and have a hard time taking no as an answer.  I wish my old doc hadn't retired, we had a great doc/patient relationship.

Congrats on the great U/S! Your doc will see the light. Just keep working on him...mention something about being prepared for a home birth
