Babies: 3 - 6 Months

5 month- not rolling over

My daughter rolled over like 15 times in one week when she was 2 months old.  Now she doesnt roll over at all! Is this a big deal?

Tummy time? how much should she get? she always cries... should i just let her cry and give her a solid 5 mins?

Re: 5 month- not rolling over

  • FWIW my pedi tells me to do at least 30 min of tummy time a day.

I'm a FTM so I'm not sure when they should be rolling by but my son was rolling front to back way before back to front. And there are days he rolls all over and days he does not move depending on his mood. He is 4 months old.

  • My second dd started to roll and then stopped, like yours. She picked it up again a couple weeks later. I would mention it to your pedi at the next appt, but I wouldn't freak out yet.

This for me as well. You could try doing tummy time on your chest where she lays on you, I use to use the boppy.

  • My DS never rolled over. I tried everything. He's a normal 3 year old little boy now and I wondered why I worried! My 4 month old DD rolls everywhere however. Lol

  • I wouldn't be concerned unless your pedi is. Babies do things on their own timeline and not every kid fits into the Average.
