Just putting this out there to see which spelling people prefer. I am having a girl. The spelling will either be Wynree or Winree. Nickname would be Win or Winnie. Thanks.
I can't even pronounce that name with tripping over my own tongue. Winnie is adorable. According to google Winry (this spelling) is a diminutive of Winifred.
@mjreilly2 I am serious and don't call me Shirley.
The name is from a work of fiction. It may not have an origin. I like the way it sounds and the oringinal spelling was far worse so this is what came up with. Also, we my co-workers suggested.

You get 5 points for the bolded, but -5 points for the name.

I would go with Winnifred or just Winnie. Neither of your options look like words or names. It's very awkward looking and I think people would go out of their way to avoid saying it aloud.
I love Winifred! Perhaps you could use Winry as a nn for Winifred? Although Winry is nms, if you love it using it as a nn doesn't seem as bad. She would have a formal option to use on her resume, or if she simply outgrows her nn.
Winifred. If a name's only source is some pop culture thing that's obscure now and will be all the more so for your child's entire adult life, that's going to be hard to live with as a full name. I am pretty sure the correct spelling only has one N. Give her a legit name and you can go wild with the NN.

yes and yes. We actually wanted to use it as a shortened version of Winnifred. Possible using Winnifred as a legal name.

I'm sorry, but I hate Winry/winree, etc. Really hate.
Winifred is fine. Also, Winter is another option that others might hate but I love.
