Trouble TTC a Sibling

HSG?

I have one scheduled for Friday. How painful is it really? DH can't come, it's two hours away from my house, and I don't want to ask someone to drive me. My best friend lives near the hospital so I can always go there after. I'm wondering how much pain and how long it will last.

  • I was put under so I was required to have someone to drive me home. I was achey after, but fine to be normal.

  • Not to scare you, but i didn't have an easy time.  For both of mine it took 45 min.  I actually still dont know why but it hurt.  Hilariously they were piping in music and it was "king of pain".  Great choice.

But...I rested afterward and could have driven home after a bit.  And...I think I am the rare person that had a tough time.

  • In all honesty  - it was extremely painful for me. I had taken the ibuprofen ahead of time too. I don't recall how long it took but you can get through it. I had to rest for a while afterwards, my blood pressure went a little wonky, but after a while I think I would have been ok to drive though I appreciated that I didn't have to.  If you have another option for a ride I'd go with it, just because you might start cramping on your way home.  Good luck.

  • It definitely sucked during the procedure but the cramping went away quickly after. 4 hours later and I feel a little tender but that's it.
