Experiencing loss- update

I am currently experiencing a mc. This is the second one for DH and me. I was lurking on this site in June '06 when the first one happened. We were not ready yet, but it was still very hard. That was a natural mc that started with pain and passing tissue. I was then on the Nuvaring for 8 years. In July we started TTC. I would have been 9 weeks today. Last Thursday I went in for an us during the 8 week checkup and they found a gestational sac and measured it at 5-6 weeks. On Sunday I started spotting, Monday became heavier, last night became very painful. It is still very painful today. I have not passed the baby or any tissue yet. It has just been blood at period level for the past day. I go to the doctor tomorrow.

If I have still not passed any tissue by tomorrow, do you have any advice? Would my doctor just advise me to continue to have a natural mc or would I still have a d&c or medication options? Any heads up before talking to my doctor is appreciated.

I'm so sorry for your loss
I have tried natural miscarriage, a d&c and the tablet misinpotal with my past losses. Our of all 3 the d&c has been the best way and the quickest to recover from. With my natural mc i kept bleeding for weeks and ended up needing a d&c in the end anyway. With the misinpotal suppositories I found that the worst, the pain was horrid and seeing the fetus was just too emotional for me ( sorry if that's too much info). I found out on Thursday that my 9 week fetus had died too . The doctor recommended a d&c because we wanted to have the fetus tested and also because he said with my past history I would heal faster. Maybe have a chat to your doctor and see what he recommends. If the pain gets worse maybe drop into the hospital. I hope this helps you in your decision

I'm so sorry for your loss. I second everything that @kyliehopeful said above. My doctor gave me the option of waiting for a natural mc or a D&C when my MMC was discovered. I went the D&C route  just because I couldn't imagine waiting for something like that to happen and not knowing when it would occur and I am very glad I did. Physically it was a fairly simple process (emotionally not so much but there is no avoiding that no matter what route you go). My recovery has been pretty uneventful. The worst part physically for me has been waiting for AF to show up so I can start to feel like my body is "normal" again. Definitely discuss all your options with you doctor and I wish you a speedy recovery with whatever option you choose. ((Hugs))

Update:

Thank you for the support and replies. I went to the doctor today. She saw the baby during the exam and retrieved (was painful scraping, but I am sure she was being as gentle as possible). The baby was not developed enough for any genetic testing, but she is sending for other testing that will have results on Monday. My HCG levels last Tuesday were 2911, were drawn today (results tomorrow afternoon), and will be monitored to fall.

She recommended three cycles before TTC again. That is ok. I am sure I will need the time to heal emotionally and allow my uterus to replenish properly. I am sure like many of you that I will come to have feelings of wanting to speed up time, but I am glad this board is here and sad that we all share the same reason for being here.
