Dansko clogs?

So, the last few weeks, I've started to notice that bending over to tie my shoes is getting harder and harder. I need to buy some no-tying-required shoes that will last me through delivery. They need to be snow-proof (no adorable laser-cut flats or anything) and easy to don/doff. And I typically dress casually for work (I typically wear jeans and sneakers) so casual is perfect for me. I have a desk job, but I do walk regularly for exercise, so it would be nice if these shoes could be ok for walking.

I've considered buying a pair of Dansko clogs. I've tried these on in the store before, but I don't know how comfortable they'd be after standing a while. It seems like there isn't much cushion in them? Are they comfortable? Would you recommend them?

Re: Dansko clogs?

  • Oooh, I found these on zappos, and maybe they're a better choice? I have had great luck with Keen shoes in the past (I've owned at least a half dozen pairs).

  • Dansko rock. The professional clog is designed for being on your feet for twelve hours. I will say that I have rolled my ankle on them several times due to the odd height.

I have merrel clogs now and love them.
  • I have a friend that I work with that wears them and loves them....they are a little expensive but she says if you take care of them they still last a long time and said they are really comfy

Good point. I didn't even think about that. I'm pretty clumsy already, and when I'm pregnant it seems like I'm even worse. Maybe I should only consider something with no heel.

  • I only wear Danakos at work and spend about 90% of my day on my feet. They aren't padded but I never have back issues in them, which is really important for me.
  • Dansko's are amazing! My SO is an executive chef and is on his feet for 12+ hours a day. He also has bulging discs from an accident years ago. He absolutely swears by these as his go-to clogs.
  • I love my danskos but I have also rolled my ankles a time or two wearing them. And towards the end of my last pregnancy my feet were swollen and I couldn't shove my feet in them!

  • Wearing them as I type! I've got 4 pairs because I have a shopping problem. I started nursing with nikes and that lasted a month. I would never wear anything other than my danskos now. 13 hours on my feet and I feel fine after (my body at least!). I have rolled an ankle, but you can do that if you aren't careful in nearly any kind of shoe depending on where you're walking. My vote is definitely for danskos!
