Don't leave phone charging on the bed!

DH left his phone charging on our bed. I just happened to walk in and it smelled like burned rubber in our room. I grab his phone and it's so hot that I dropped it on the floor. The piece of the charger that connects to the phone was actually starting to warp it was so hot. Our mattress was also very hot.

I had just seen someone share a similar story on FB, but I laughed it off. This was a reality check!

Scary! I recently saw a news story about the number of people who sleep with their phone in bed with them or under their pillow.  A teenager had her phone start burning up her pillow right under her head.

Yikes. I've always slept with my phone under my pillow

The more I think about it, the scarier it becomes. Like my mattress was probably a couple minutes away from catching fire. I'm so glad I walked into the bedroom when I did. His phone is fried. It won't charge anymore. He called both Verizon and the manufacturer. Sounds like they hear more and more of these stories.

I charge my phone on my bed every night, never had anything like this happen. I would for sure call your provider, but it's probably a bad charger.
