TTC after 35

Re-intro (loss mentioned)

I had just started to post when I got my BFP, and we were out of communication for most of the summer. Traveling up here means we spent a lot of time with no online access (and survived!)

I found out last week that I had a mmc (at 11w). Miso at home, and had a horribly ironic Labour Day weekend.

So I'm back. We will be trying again asap.

  • I'm so sorry to hear that khaleesi. I love your name though. A warm welcome an hugs. How are you feeling?
    TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes.  Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube.  If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help.  Doubts I have endometriosis.  My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
    Seriously considering IVF in March/April
    12/17/14 - Natural BFP!
  • Thanks everybody.

@radiantly - I'm feeling okay. Physically I'm almost back to 'normal' - my doc is following my levels and I have more bloodwork scheduled for Tuesday. Emotionally, I waffle between devastation and anxiousness to start trying again, already.

I began charting right away - largely to get back into the routine, but am hoping that will work in my favour.
  • So sorry for your loss.
We are here for you and many of us know the emotional roller coaster after a loss.
It's good that you are temping now while you wait to ttc again. It gives you something to focus on. Make sure you follow drs orders as to how long to wait until you are aloud to try again. But don't be surprised if your cycles are all over the place for the next few months.

Thanks. I got conflicting advice from the doctors I have been dealing with during this time, so I'm going to get some clarification next week. I'm inclined to go with the senior OBGYN who said immediately though!  :D
  • @northernkhaleesi ask again at your follow up. I know you were 11 weeks when they discovered your loss and the further along you are the longer they usually want you to wait in order to let your lining rebuild.
I was aloud to try again right away after my CP but had to wait a full cycle after my 7w loss. You don't want an egg implanting in lining that isn't thick enough.
I totally understand you wanting to try right away. You think being pregnant again will take away the hurt of the loss, I get that. Do what is best for your body and spirit.
I truly wish you the best because I have been there.
