I noticed yesterday Owen couldn't walk. Almost as if he can't bare any weight on his right leg. I checked him over, messaged his leg, foot, butt, back, he showed no signs of injury, or pain.
He can pull himself to a standing position, only if he holds on to something like the couch. He can walk, only holding onto something that can help support him. He can no longer go from a sitting position on the floor, to standing, and if he let's go to try and walk, he falls.
He progressively got worse yesterday, so I took him into urgent care before lunch even rolled around.
I noticed he's got a small bruiser on his back by his spine in the middle of getting his dressed.
Dr. Doesn't seem overly concerned. We Had x rays done on both legs. But only below the knee because she said it could be a "toddler fracture."
She sent us home, and wants me to give motrin as needed.
He's crawling around just fine. But he's getting frustrated because he wants to run and walk, and he can't.
I'm beside myself, I don't know what is wrong!! I'm so frustrated, because he shows no signs of pain, until he stands, or tries to stand.
I asked about the bruising on his back, and if that can be a a sign of something wrong. She said it's an unlikely spot for a bruise, but that the spine is so well protected she's not too concerned with it.
She's gonna call me this morning to check up on him. I'm gonna request more x rays because this isn't right, obviously!
She didn't want to do a mess of x ray's yesterday because she didn't want to expose him to allot of radiation.
She says because he's been sick this last week, that could be the cause of this too. .... which I don't get.
Seriously, I'm so upset, I'm in tears because I know some thing isn't right, and I feel like more testing could have been done.
It's possible he could have twisted his ankle, or broke a toe or whatever. I just don't know when it would have happened, because he woke up yesterday able to walk a little, then it got worse and worse to the point he can't bare his weight.
I know it's a long shot, but anyone else experience this? She says it's really common in 14 month olds. Again. .....I don't understand that.

IT'S A BOY
Right, and that's what she said, and that's what initially what Dh and I thought, but he checked out good. He's got some fluid in his ears.
But its clear, now its his leg, Foot, ankle, knee. We just don't know what!
My husband thinks it's his knee. I'm gonna mention it to the Dr. He's able to crawl OK, so I'm not 100% if it could be that.
UGH! SO FRUSTRATING! !
Hope the Dr. Calls soon.
If your instincts have red flags up, trust them. It may be nothing: or it could be something serious.
I gave O motrin, and had him take a nice warm bath and just let him soak in there.
He is starting to walk around again, but he's limping, and taking it slow.
He's able to get on and off the couch, and walking without support.
So far, he's doing better after motrin and a nice warm soak in the tub.
@ASmallWonder
He's to go back on Monday, or Tuesday to get more x rays done.
Reason why we can't do it today is because it won't show anything different. We need to wait a few days so they'd see a change on the x rays of new growth.
Until then, motrin it is, and if he doesn't feel like crawling or walking we need to carry him.
Motrin seems to be working, as he's able to limp around for a little bit.
