I'm personally not a huge fan of Taytem, but I don't think it seems as uneducated as everyone is making it out to be- as for mispronouncing and misspelling I have an awfully unique name (although my first name is historic, and my middle name is an altered spelling of a historic) and my maiden name was not pronounced the way it was spelled at all. I never had that big of a problem with it- sure, I corrected people a lot and was teased a bit, and once when I was a small child I told everyone at a wedding my name was Sarah (haha!), but as I grew up I began to appreciate having a unique (and androgynous) name.

I've always liked old lady names like Eloise and Stella, not sure if they go with Taytem- but maybe!

Well, thanks everyone for the middle name suggestions. And thanks for the many of you for trying to correct the way I want to spell my daughters name. Unfortunately your attempts did not work. My husband and I have decided on a full name, and Taytem is still the first- not Tatum thanks!

@Christina80xoxo‌ I never got mad I understand people like to voice their opinions. I just personally choose to do it in a more polite way, and when I'm asked. Originally I asked for middle names and I got more responses on the first name which we were set on from the beginning. No big deal. We're happy with the name we chose. God Bless

Since many on here tried to help with a middle name do you mind sharing your choice? I already gave you my opinion on Taytem but it's your choices in the end obviously

Well, I voiced an opinion about the spelling it a POLITE way. Then you came back with an attitude just to say our "attempts did not work" I personally just thought the spelling you chose was stupid.
Didn't make sense anyways because then you said you wouldn't change the spelling because of people you don't even know, but you are here asking people you don't even know for middle names.
People probably won't like the names I have picked , so I don't ask

I just laughed so hard because I just had this discussion with co-workers a few days ago. I work in a hospital with babies and I see "unique" names which are actually not unique at all, just spelled weird every single day! OP, Tatum isn't really unique, actually it's fairly common these days. So saying you like "unique" names in inaccurate. You took a normal name and just chose to spell it "unique" which actually makes it look as ridiculous as if you were to spell it Tay-tym or Ta'tum or even Tayytehm. It just makes you look uneducated and unable to spell correctly. Unfortunately, your child will have to suffer the consequences.

I actually find your commitment to using a truly bad name entertaining.  Poor Taytum, though.

I personally think if 50+ people all agree that my daughter might suffer from the name I pick Id at least take it into consideration rather than burying my head in the sand and being ignorant on purpose. It's kinda fucked up to not think about how the name you choose for this other person will effect them for their entire life.

You might as well change your boy name too, to Rivur. I mean if you're gonna spell one name wrong why not both?

I agree, anything with one syllable goes well with it! We are also having a little bit of a hard time coming up with middle names.

I would definitely be interested to hear what you chose for the middle name. You've made it abundantly clear that you're going with your... Unusual spelling, public opinion be damned. Which means the middle name will be even more important - it might become the name your daughter goes by. So what's it to be?
