Re: Deleted

  • I would really recommend that you ask your doctor ASAP - we are not medical experts.

  • Definitely call your Dr on that one.
  • If I have that much anything leaking from anywhere I'd holla at a doctor. Call now!

  • Hey ladies!
So I've never started a board before but I figured it wouldn't hurt to get some separate opinions lol. I'm 27 weeks tomorrow (9.13) and on Wednesday I went to the bathroom and when I stood up I felt fluid going down my leg. But I automatically attributed it to my 3 yr old son having just used the bathroom before me and assumed he missed and hit the seat somehow (he always puts the seat up) but later that afternoon I noticed the middle and whole front of my underwear was soaked. I got curious but assumed it was just sweat. But last night out of curiosity I wore a pad to bed and when I woke up it was full. No color, and smell is useless for me as everything smells weird this pregnancy. Not sure if a larger amount of discharge is normal for 27 weeks or if I should be genuinely concerned? This is baby #3 but I never felt my waters break with #1, just stood up on my way to the hospital and noticed my shorts were wet, and my waters never broke with #2 bc she was breach and an emergency c section.
    Thanks ladies!

    Another newbie! Welcome and congrats!

If you are concerned enough to ask random internet strangers you should be calling your doctor.

  • Called the doctor. They said it's normal and nothing to worry about.
Thanks! I don't usually ask random strangers, but I feel like I've over called my doctor this time around and my family keeps telling me I'm just paranoid lol.
    Thanks though!
  • I'm surprised your doc said it was normal as well, liquid running down your leg is not discharge.

Obviously you are still concerned maybe you should go to the L&D department of your urgent care/ER can get double checked.

  • The same thing happened to me and I called my dr and ended up in the ER. Luckily me and baby were okay but I'd rather be safe than sorry. They will do a test strip to see if amniotic fluid is leaking. I also had an ultrasound. I hope everything is okay with you and baby!
  • I got to agree with PPs... that seems like an awful lot to be "normal". I had a quarter size wet spot on my underwear and was nervous it was fluid. My MW checked my cervix out and got a sample to just make sure. Turns out its either discharge or pee.

If you are actually leaking that much, I would really, really insist on being seen to get it checked out.
  • That was quick ...

  • 1 hour to DD. I don't think we had a dirty delete in a while.

    Any parting comments for us?

    Test
  • OP - why would you delete this? I thought you got some helpful answers and another poster who would be having similar issues could have searched for this to see what seems normal and what doesn't. Doesn't make sense...
  • OP you are a newbie...just so you know by dirty deleting it will draw more attention to this thread. Thought I would give you a tip.

    Test
  • Well if this does happen to someone else, at least the post will be easy to find since DDs get more attention than anything else! So thanks for essentially creating a sticky, @joyfulnoise89‌. And for real, this sounds like something you should be concerned about. Rather than getting pissy that you were given valid advice and concern from us, maybe go to the hospital.

  • OP I hope you realize that by DD'ing and making the title "deleted" you're inviting a ton of people who otherwise wouldn't have clicked to come on in. And I'm not sure why you deleted, unless you really are a troll and you were called out on being such.

  • I saw the title "deleted" and thought about popping some popcorn before I opened this thread.  I'm a bit shocked how tame this is.  OP, you are probably long gone, but I hope you went to the ER or L&D.  I would rather go in for nothing than do nothing and have it be something serious.  Good luck, and I hope for the best for you and baby.

I feel like the board got quiet for about 30 minutes and my mind went.....you are missing newbie drama somewhere. Then the more rational side kicked in....everyone is commuting to work, eating breakfast, taking care of their kids, etc.

  • This was so absolutely tame! Even before she DD'd.
Shit toes were barely stepped on.

  • Shoot - I missed the fun.  Oh well, just in case someone else needs to know, I was leaking fluid with my first pregnancy and it was nowhere near that much, but it still landed me in the hospital with a 3-week early delivery because the level was "dangerously low."

Now I did call the doctor's office and the phone nurse told me that I probably peed on myself, so that wasn't cool.  Am I using the same doctor this time?  NOPE.  Does my current OB know about the fluid leaking and my displeasure at the phone nurse second-guessing me?  YEP.  They are going to be monitoring my levels very carefully to make sure that doesn't happen again.

Wow. The nurse told you you were peeing yourself. Dumb nurses are almost as awesome as dumb docs. I used to do phone triage, and my answer to almost everything was "if you're very concerned, head to the ER or urgent care clinic." Because what do I really know, just based on what you're telling me on the phone?
Yeah, no kidding!  I was pissed (pun intended) and said "I know the difference - this is not pee."  She told me in her most soothing voice that it's very possible to be 37 weeks pregnant and have a little urine escape without knowing it's happening.  I should have gone to the ER myself, or insisted on an appointment, but I trusted her.  I've known so many lovely, wonderful nurses that I just automatically trust them.  But I learned that there are idiots in every field.  ;)

  • Wow. I would delete to if I got a bunch hormonal "this is bullshit" comments. Maybe she's young, maybe she's poor and can't afford a great ob like some of can. Maybe she's being dismissed by a subpar overworked Dr bc pregnant are "So hormonal and tend to freak out". Maybe she doesn't have time for your shit. You all are so quick to call out trolling but I mean really how often has it really happened. You all make me ashamed sometimes and thankfully I'm not off my rock crazy sensitive like most of you but it's really exhausting being lumped in with some of you. Before you say shit think about what advice you'd give the baby growing inside you when he or she or they want to say something asinine and assume they know everything. OP I hope you're OK and if your a troller good for you. .... Bc being pregnant is only carte blanched to drive your damn HUSBAND insane.
