Yogurt

What kind of yogurt do u give your toddler? If plain what do u mix in?

Re: Yogurt

  • Stonyfield Farms YoBaby yogurt, or Trader Joes organic full fat yogurt. I'll often give it for a snack with some fruit.

  • Stoneyfield Farms YoTot (Toddler?) or, more often now, YoKids (but I prefer the YoBaby because it has veggies. Often mixed with berries -- he loves strawberries and blackberries. But he seriously loves the vanilla Greek yogurt that I eat and begs for it. He will even eat it with the super crunchy granola I put in it. But, yeah, who doesn't like vanilla? :-)

  • Full fat, plain Greek yogurt. I give it to her plain. Why get her used to requiring added sugar to every meal she eats?

  • I occasionally give him full fat Greek yogurt w/ honey - he LOVES it! I've also frozen GoGurt & given him about 1/2 tube as a special treat. He has a casein sensitivity, though so he doesn't often get diary products.

  • Full fat plain yogurt (not Greek). My produce store carries a brand from a local dairy and they don't add pectin to their yogurt (which stonyfield and many others do).  I sprinkle homemade granola on top.  DS gets it at breakfast most mornings.

  • Faye brand, 2%. Plain or the kind with the fruit purée attached (but separate), so I can control how much of the fruit (and sugar) she gets. You could also purée your own frozen fruit to mix in. Probably cheaper that way, but less convenient.
  • Shoprite brand full fat plain mixed with puréed fruit ( sometimes fresh fruit, sometimes I use baby food). I also keep gerber yogurt on hand if I'm in a rush or need to pack it to go.

  • Usually Stony Farms. I might mix in frozen (thawed) fruit.

Home made greek yogurt. It's actually pretty easy to make. He'll eat it plain, with fruit, honey etc

  • We did full fat plain Greek yogurt until the doctor said to go ahead ease off on the full fat at 18 months. Now, we do 2% or nonfat (whichever I happen to pick up) plain Greek yogurt. I used to mix in pureed frozen fruits, then cut up fruit, but now he prefers them separate.

We also do the Plum Organics Greek yogurt pouches for snacks. He LOVES those.

  • I try to buy whatever kind of organic tub is on sale at my local market. I'll usually add chia seeds and some oatmeal and let it sit overnight. Sometime I'll throw some frozen berries in, usually not.
