Another bf ?

It seems like L is starting to space his feedings out to 3 hours during the day...but then he also wants to cluster feed in the evenings. Should I keep offering every 2 hours during the day so he'll get more ounces in the day, or should I just follow his cues?

  • I just follow the cues.  P finally quit cluster feeding in the evenings around 3 months.

As soon as C was back to birth weight I started just using cues.

  • I'd go by his cues. As long as he seems content and is growing well, no need to push feedings if he doesn't seem interested.

A is almost four months old and still eats every 2-3 hrs and cluster feeds in the evenings. But if she goes longer, I'm totally cool with that too.

  • I was once told to "watch the baby, not the clock" once they are back to birth weight unless you have concerns.

Most days R still eats every 2 hours exactly, but if we are out he will often go 3 or 3.5. I just go with it. He wakes about 2 times at night to eat as well. He's 14 weeks.
