Hi!! I can't sleep. Anyone else have this problem? But once I sleep I don't want to wake up because my dreams are so vivid and crazy. I'm 11 weeks now, and I can only tell my sleeping is going to suck for the next 6 months!! Oh boo hoo. insomnia
I can't sleep either but for me it's because my heartburn is so bad that when I fall asleep the acid fills my throat and mouth and I wake up in a panic choking on it. Sometimes I accidentally breathe it in while trying to get air, then the fun really starts. Sleep is terrifying now! : (
All I can picture from that was like a ten foot tall acid reflux monster lurking over me!!! Like grumbling "it's going to happennnnnn sooooonnn" now that is terrifying.
I heard the heartburn was bad, but sheesh. I'm sure it's different for everyone though, don't get too worried. Oh well! At least I'll be all caught up on Netflix by the time my LO gets here!
I work nights, so my sleep habits are horrid. I go to bed around 830a.m. and wake up around 2:30.p.m I get stuff done around the house, but usually I am exhausted once I have to cook dinner so I try to take a little nap before going into work. I wish I could sleep at least till 4 or 5, but that is a rarity.

I have had ALL of the insomnia since about week 10. Benadryl actually
wakes me up, and so did Unisom. My OB wrote me for Ambien, but it seemed
to have little effect. I hope you have better luck than I am having!
But just a heads up, those three things are safe to take during pregnancy. Talk to your OB, of course, as I am not a dr, but you can try OTC things like Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) or Unisom (Doxylamine) and they might help you get some rest.
I was an insomniac before pregnancy, wheened off of my meds and continue with insomnia.... Ugh. I take a benedryl which helps a little and just bought a boppy pillow. So fingers crossed tonight....
Benadryl is safe?!! Seriously! So I told my midwife at my 8 week appointment and she said "did you have trouble with sleep before" and I said well yeah kind of and she goes "well there you go" that was it. (I don't like my doctors really and kind of glad I'm moving to Albuquerque NM soon) But if Benadryl is safe @stellarsoundz that's awesome !! I'll ask her on Monday at my 3 months appt!
I'm so uncomfortable I'm not sleeping. I remember thinking when I was pregnan with DD that somebody should have warned me that the sleep stops when you get pregnant, not just when baby is born.
I've found that sleeping with a pillow between my legs has helped me get more comfortable, relieving hip/back aches. But I just started getting restless leg syndrome (just past 14w) which makes it so hard to fall asleep. Hope you find something that helps you!
I used to have sleeping meds for insomnia, but they took them away from me
The SO and I have been trying multiple methods for a good nights sleep. He moved out to the couch for a few days (I missed him... he's back in our bed). Now we're locking the fur babies out of the bedroom. The 80lb. Rottweiler needs to learn that she has her own bed! The cats got the boot as well (the one is a biter if you move into her personal bubble space).
As far as dreams go... we're stuck with those. I wish there was an off button for that weirdness.

It's 5 am and I've been awake since 4 bc of a bad dream!!! Tried to wake my hubs to tell him about it but he's basically in a coma when he sleeps. I've had some crazy dreams but this was the first bad one! I dreamed I went to a dr apt and the checked for HB and said from whatever they looked at they could tell the baby's hadn't had a heart beat in about an hr. So then they cut me open, gave the baby (which was a girl and they called her hazel)chest compressions, got it beating again, then stapled me shut. My scar/staples kept hurting all during my dream. At the end I decided to buy a Doppler and check for HB then couldn't find it. Then I woke up in a panic. I know it's just a dream and I should probably blame it on the BBQ I had for supper... But this is my first baby... Maybe I should get a Doppler? Or just trust everything is fine? All sonos and tests have came back normal, I've never had any cramps, and not even a hint of a drop of blood... Anyway I'm just starting to ramble.
Sorry to hear everyones horrible sleeping. I'm the same :-/. 15w and awful sleep. I can fall asleep instantly but waking up 2-3 time a night to pee I can never fall back asleep. Usually up 2-3 hours until my alarm goes off.
Starting to worry about my immune system, they say it weakens with pregnancy and now no sleep & it's getting cold in MI. Yikes, hoping I don't have colds/flu all winter :-/
I can usually fall asleep ok around 11pm but every night, like clockwork, I wake up at 4:45am and my mind is racing with thoughts. I try and go back to sleep until my 7:20am alarm but most mornings I'm just up! (Like right now)
