Not SN related- changing siggy pic help

I"ve tried tinypic and photobucket using the html message board code and saved it 50 times (you know how the bump is) and I still see my old picture. Help, please.

Re: Not SN related- changing siggy pic help

  • Click on the little person icon/silhouette next to the star in the upper right corner and then click the word "Preferences" that pops up.
On the next screen, click Signature Settings in the upper left corner and update your signature there.

This is the screen that worked for me some time ago. When I was using some other screen, I had the same problem you were having. I have no idea now what screen it was, but that thing DID NOT WORK. I finally got it to stick after doing the above.

  • Loading the player...
  • Thank you! I got as far as getting to the update area. I then tried to cut copy and past the HTML code from tiny pic and that didn't work. I then tried to cut and paste the picture from tiny pic and it made my picture HUGE---I don't know how to resize it. Help one more time, please? TIA!

  • I may not be able to help much with the picture. If you can resize the image in some graphics software and upload it to tinypic again, then it should show up in the same size in your signature, if you use the link to it. I had a problem where the "<" and ">" characters in my html code were getting parsed into those < and > characters so I replaced them by hand and saved again and it worked. If you don't know html, the one with "lt" should be "<" and the one with "gt" should be ">". That is probably what's happening with your signature now (the text below your pictures). If you look at your sig now in edit mode, I bet you have a bunch of < and >. That's what's making the html appear as text instead of being interpreted correctly by the web browser.

  • THANK YOU! I went back to tinypic and chose the smallest avatar size and did a copy & paste. You rock! Thanks!
