Very Important (Sewing help)

I want to make a birthday shirt similar to this:

It will only have a 1 on it and a bow tie with actual ribbon.

But I need opinions.  Should I:

1. Buy a full Onsie and just attach everything.

2. Buy a t shirt (show off the diaper), make suspenders with clips to attache to the diaper

3. Other option (help me out crafty people).

And I would have made a poll, but I have no idea how to.

What about a hybrid idea... do a shirt and attach everything.  But then have some clips that hang off the shirt that can attach to the diaper.

Yeah, I think you're right that the suspenders should be mostly attached.

I want colors to match a diaper.  So I think I'll actually pick the diaper cover I want him to wear and then pick the colors I want to match.

I'll most likely just buy some baby legs to go with the shirt and look for a hat or make a birthday hat.

And I'm not that good with my sewing machine, so I'd probably mess up the seam.

You could totally do this for a girl.  Pink suspenders.  And you could add a flower to the hat.  Get some girly baby legs.

I recommend using fabric markers or something instead of attaching items that might get stuck/caught on things/pulled off

That's what I would do anyway
