Hi! Just got back from my first ob intake. Had blood work and got weighed. Also scheduled my NT scan. I am so sad my ob doesn't offer harmony to those under 35. I really wanted to find out the sex super early. Now I have to wait until 18 weeks. That is so far away! We did find out with our DD.
Me too!!! I kind of chuckled when my OB told me I'm considered "too low risk", um ok, lol

@sha529 and @mommalemon I'm so sorry for your losses. Thinking of you ladies.
Sorry for the late check in. Not too much new here, except a little more nausea (which I oddly find comforting). Exhaustion is kicking my butt. I have another ultrasound and my last RE appt on Friday, and I have much more of a sense of calm about this one.
We are for sure finding out the sex. We can't wait. DH is super anxious about it he wants a boy so bad! I finally got him to admit he would be just as happy with a girl though. To me it doesn't matter I just want to KNOW!
QOTW: I forgot to answer... Maybe because I haven't decided yet. I'm about 90% sure I don't have the patience to wait until delivery to find out.
But I do so hate the way that baby clothes are geared towards screaming out the child's gender. I remember shopping for a good friend who was team green, and how everything in the store was either pink and dripping with ruffles, or plastered with the word "princess" (*gag*), or blue, with something that you think would be neutral, like puppies, but then emblazoned with "Mommy's little BOY." At her shower, she opened the same two outfits covered in yellow ducks about 5 separate times (I sh*t you not).
Warning - special rage venting: The thing that really, really irks me above all is when I see a cute firefighter themed outfit, that is then ruined by the fact that the manufacturers have decided to add the word, "boy" or "fireman." Guy Montag was a fireman, but those of us who put out fires are firefighters. Is that such a crazy term that no one's ever heard of it? Is it too much to ask to just have a little outfit with firetrucks on it and no text? When did it become necessary for all baby clothing to hold the job of not just protecting your little one's skin, but also, fiercely protecting his/her gender identity - because if you want to stifle your kids personal development with narrow definitions of gender roles, the sooner you can start, the better.
* End rant *
*** ETA *** OMG - should I delete that last part, because I sound crazy? It sounds crazy, I know it does. Maybe I'll just leave it up for a while, and see if I feel as impassioned the next time I read it.
@AMShark - Do NOT delete! Totally agree. Ironically, this is why we're leaning towards finding out. My friends who have gone team green, and especially those who tried to stay gender-neutral post birth, describe what a battle it is. Racks of strongly gendered clothing and toys next to one itty bitty rack of yellow and green clothes. I really don't think I have the energy to fight that kind of a battle anymore. I don't think it harms a baby to be put in gendering clothing, and it makes the rest of the world much happier. Parents who don't want to give strong traditional/conforming gender messages can counteract the effects of frills or trucks on the onsies with later socialization.

@sha529 and @mommalemon. I am so sorry to hear about your losses. May you heal quickly. T&P to you and your angel babies.
Thanks for including me @pbgle. Yesterday's ultrasound revealed one strong healthy baby. Heart rate was 174. She was not able to find Baby B's heart beat so he/she did not make it. I knew it was a long shot but I was so hopeful.
As for finding out Baby's gender.... I think we are going to do it this time. We were team green with our little girl but the long journey to conceive this time makes us want to celebrate early. It might seem more real then?
@keifekm - I'm sorry for your loss. I wish you a happy & healthy 9 months for the remainder of your pregnancy.
@pblge - Compared to Storm, Jazz and Kio's parents, I suddenly feel completely normal. It's not that I have anything against frilly pink dresses for those who want to buy them. But, it would really be nice to have the choice. A little wider selection, that's all I'm asking for, really.

@pblge - nope, I haven't taken the Prednisone. We worked so hard to get pregnant that I just can't imagine taking that kind of risk during first tri. My oxygen saturation levels were fine, so I know the baby is getting enough oxygen - I'd probably consider the Prednisone if that weren't the case.

Hi there! Would love to join this group. Currently at 8w4d ( edd 4/20). This was my third round of IVF, the last two resulted in losses. Still nervous and can't help but be worried all the time but saw a strong heartbeat at my last two us appointments so hoping this is the one that sticks. Thanks for making this group and I do hope to become part of the community!
I freaked out last week about going off all of my meds. I was looking forward to Wednesday for quite a while (no more shots in the rear!), but then I worried about if my body wasn't making enough progesterone, etc. I ended up e-mailing my RE nurse who reassured me that I was good. I can't say that I haven't been a little sensitive of any new symptoms the past fews days. I have my first appointment with my OB Tuesday, so the reassurance of an ultrasound will be nice. I see that as a benefit of being an IVF'er…more ultrasounds than others which calms me down from worrying.
QOTW: We already know. We did genetic testing on the embryos. I'm very happy we did, as I would likely have had a miscarriage with a couple of our embryos. Of course, I would have found out later if not because I am also a planner.
@stranzm I am feeling the same way. I will be off my progesterone shots by the end of the week. I'm thrilled to be nearing the end of shots but scared as well. I guess we just have to have faith that our babies are doing well now?
