FET Cost

For those of you who have been through FET, I'm curious what the cost was?

We met with our RE today to discuss it and we were surprised to find out that it would cost $3,000 per cycle. We have 4 frozen embryos and don't want to risk transferring more than one embryo at a time (we already have a set of twins from our IVF cycle), but I also can't afford 4 FETs if it doesn't work. I guess I expected it to be less expensive since it's so much less involved than an IVF cycle. Is this pricing pretty typical?

Our portion plus what our insurance was charged totaled $3,175 for the day of my transfer, not including meds.

Ours have been $3,500 each but insurance covers a portion.

$3,000 without meds sounds about average to me. I have 4 embryos in storage and it tok me 5 emrbyo transfers to get pregnant with this little one so I'm nervous about how mnay of those embryos I'm going to have to go through too! I don't really want to transfer more than 1 at a time... I know it's crummy but like I said, htat sounds about average..

I just did a FET and it was $4,000 and that price was just for the clinic.  The meds were around $600.  When I add that to the amount I've spent over the years on storage it makes me a little queasy.

My insurance doesn't cover any infertility procedures but did cover some of the things I needed to have done prior to my FET (mammogram, hysteroscopy, thyroid check, etc.) so I paid co-pays for those.

Thanks so much for all the responses. It seems that there's quite a range in costs, with the estimate I was given falling right in the middle.

I had no idea this was going to be so expensive. I want to be conservative and transfer only 1 embryo at a time, but I can't afford 4 FETs if that's what it comes to! Yikes.

I feel like that is a really good price. I paid 2500 just for an IUI not including any meds since I am all OP.

I have no idea what the actual cost was (we have excellent coverage) but we paid $600 plus about $15 in meds.
