Advice, help or slap in the face needed.

I have been spotting steadily for two days. I had a full flow for about an hour today then back to spotting. I am waiting for AF so I can start ultrasound and meds for iui. Well I called the doc when I was having full flow today to make my ultrasound appt for tomorrow. But now back to spotting!! Is this cd1?? Should I just go in anyway tomorrow? When I do the ultrasound on cd12 won't they see if I'm ready to ovulate and if not check the next day???? Therefore if I'm a day or so off cd1 it is ok? I'm assuming this is not an exact science and that is why RE does back to bavk iui's. Any advice or opinions are welcomed. Thanks.

  • I didn't end up doing monitored IUI's with an RE but I would go in tomorrow. If you've been consistently spotting with any heavier flow I'd count it as CD 1. Good luck!

  • For my IUI's I had to get my ultrasound by cd3 since I usually started meds the night of cd3. So I had about one day of wiggle room if I wasn't totally sure if it was cd1 or 2. I always just went even if I only had an hour of heavy flow. My RE said the first full day (before noon) of heavy red flow was cd1 but I would even call to make the appt if I started in the afternoon/early evening. My periods were never super heavy anyways and an hour of heavy qualifies as cd1 by my standards for sure.

  • I'm no help, but I wanted to say good luck with everything!!

! I always hated when I called and they asked if it was CD1. I was pretty clueless about everything so I always just said that the day I was calling was CD1... Mainly because I always start full force when AF comes (l've only noticed spotting a handful of times!)
  • I had my probe on CD2. They thought my timing might have been off so they brought me back in for blood work to confirm my CD. I would just go, better to go early and have to re-do work than to miss out on a whole cycle.
