A kind of strange PR ? UPDATE

So DS had this little rubber/plastic bird toy that was given to him. It looked like it was all one piece (ypu know that molded rubber kind of material that some small toys are made of), so we let him have it, since the whole thing was definitely too big for him to put in his mouth/choke on and.it was kept with all his barnyard animals (the wooden melissa and Doug ones).

Well I just found it on the floor and the bird's head is missing (looks like it was attached like a little ball and socket type joint). I'm fucking paranoid that DS swallowed it. I saw him put the in his mouth briefly this afternoon and thought nothing of it, but now that I see it was actually 2 pieces I'm paranoid. Ive looked all around the room for the head piece and can't find it.

WWYD? Wait it out? See if it turns up? He doesnt seem like his belly hurts him at all, but the head piece thats missing is maybe about the size of a whole cherry or grape and its soft plastic/rubber type material. Something I wouldnt expect him to be able to swallow whole without chewing...and this, he obviously wouldnt be able to chew.

Crap, I feel like such an idiot. Its hard to believe he'd swallow something whole like that and he obviously didnt choke on anything, but I guess you never know. i feel like MOTY right now.

UPDATE (bc I know you're all on the edge of your seats)...
The toy bird's head has been located. Apparently my kid thought it would be funny to throw it in the sink of the spare bathroom (that we never go in!) And see how long it took for mom or dad to find it. SMH. lol. Really, kiddo????

Ugh!!! I just ripped apart the living room. Nothin. Wtf. Come to think of it, he hasn't pooped yet today. Fuck.

@peanutrach1‌ they have an on call line for urgent stuff, but I feel kind of stupid for calling about this.I feel like they'd probably laugh at me.

ah, yeah, I can call during office hours and ask for someone on the medical staff...but thats during office hours. On call is for after hours and usually requires the on call dr call you back.

If he isn't having a hard time breathing then it probably isn't an issue. If you took him to the ER,  they would most likely just xray it to confirm it's in the stomach and send you home. If it was stuck in his throat, he would show signs of that and it doesn't seem to be an issue based on what you've said.

Ok. Thanks, I'll try not to stress it. He isnt showing any signs of distress and is eating dinner just fine. Im not even positive that he swallowed it, but I'm assuming so since we turned the living room upside almost and found nothing.

Guess ill keep an eye out when I change his diapers for the next week or so. Ugh. Never a dull moment here in the T household!

My two year old swallowed a dime a couple weeks back. I called her doc office to check that we were OK to let it pass...they had me call 911. Cue ambulance ride and ER xray. She left with stickers, I left with a poop stirring stick. She passed it two days later. They told me to call back if it hadn't come out in a week, she stopped eating, or she started screaming when trying to poop (crying is normal). Next time I won't even call.
