LO & the Couch

Does anyone's LO go on the couch and actually sit? Do they stay seated? Do they get down on their own?

LO always wants to come up if one of us is sitting on the couch, but he doesn't seem to understand that he needs to stay seated on the couch and that he can't run all over it. I've been trying for weeks to teach him this and he's just not catching on.
(He doesn't sit still for a second, even on the floor).

Anyone else going through this? Anyone have any ideas for me?

This is a constant battle in our house. She'll sit for a few minutes and then wants to stand, jump and dive head first off. She can get down on her own for the most part. Usually I wind up going on the floor with her as that will end her couch desires for the most part.

She loves being on the couch. Sometimes she will sit but mostly stands or tries to look over the side. She has learned to scoot down on her tummy feet first.

Dd loves being on the couch she mainly sits. But there is times when she is running on and we have to tell her no running and redirect or sit her back down.

Climbing "clicked" over here this past week. He's been on the couch before, and could climb on it but it used to take a while. Now he's up no problem. He has taken to running on the couch, and we tell him "on your bottom" over and over and remove him if he doesn't. We also say "feet first" for getting down, and he gets that. But yeah, we're right there with you! He will sit and read books on the couch with my help.

She will sit nicely on the couch but she will also try to run and dive off of it.  She knows how to get on and off by herself so I just have to watch to see if she's in a sitting mood or a crazy mood.  It she's being rowdy, I sit up there with her and try to make sure she doesn't dive off.  I don't mind her playing up there if I supervise her.

Couch potato. He knows how to get down on his belly and has never stood up or anything. But he's pretty chill most of the time.

I guess for the couch I'll just have to keep at it. It's gotta click with these littles eventually! Thanks for your feedback ladies!

Ya, Nat doesnt sit unless she has a remote to act like us changing the channel. That only lasts a few minutes though.

Owen is a freaking crazy man on the couch. Up, down, up, down. Jumping, diving etc. Didn't even occur to me until right now to correct this behavior... whoops

@caden1206‌ I had S on the bed withe before and the only way to keep him still for 5 minutes was to give him the remote. I now have sub titles on my screen :-S

She can't sit still long enough. She has a bean bag chair that she sits in for a few seconds at a time.

@DiFazette‌, my LO is just like that. As soon as he gets on the couch, he climbs to the top of it and walks around on the back ledge (I'm obviously there to catch him!). I didn't realize that kids this age were actually SITTING on the couch. Oops...
