  • Just got IUI #4 this morning.  It was so weird not having my husband there with me...he couldn't take this morning off of work so he had to drop his sample off then go straight to work.  I go in for a progesterone test on Thursday...other than that I guess I just entered the 2WW again!

I'm not super positive for this cycle...I only had one follicle.  It was a really good follicle but just one...there is a possibility of another one but my RE said a 50/50 chance.  I know it only takes one and it's not like it's worked when I did have 4.  I'm going to try and forget about it all for the next 2 weeks though :)

Favorite book of all time?! That's a toughie. I think I'm going to go with The Shadow of The Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, or Fool by Christopher Moore.

Hey ladies!!! Attended my CD13 appt today. I have 4 follies. 10mm, 11mm, 16mm and 23mm. Triggering tonight and iui number 1 on Wednesday. What size does a follicle need to be for your dr to consider it mature. I've read 15mm for some dr which means I would have 2 mature follies but my nurse said anything over 17mm?

QOTW- I am a reading teacher for middle school so I read all the time with my students but my favorite all time book is pride and prejudice. Classic :)

  • @CarSaidYes‌ I was curious about mature follicles too. My RE said they want 18mm, but I had 3 over that and 2 more that we're around 14/15mm and she said they could possibly contain eggs. Then I've heard/read other that other REs shoot for over 20mm. It's all so confusing!

  • Congrats to those with BFPs! (kmdecoux and SnowFlake84).

My second IUI was a bust. Going to the RE today to talk about next steps. Most likely will take this month off and start the IVF process next month. Good luck to you all!
  • FX for awesome betas today @kmdecoux!

Congrats @SnowFlake84 - FX for good betas for you too!

AFM... I am 11dpiui and 12 days past trigger. I think I am going to POAS tomorrow cause the progesterone has me going crazy. I don't think this one worked for us either as I only had one follicle (I was triggered around 18mm) but hubby's sperm wash was 54 million so I'm holding on to that glimmer of hope. My beta day is Thursday!

QOTW: Oh it changes regularly, but my favorite classic would have to be How to Kill a Mockingbird
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • Had my follicle scan today, and while my right side isn't doing much, my left has 3 potentially mature follicles. I was nervous about getting up early today and having my appt. at 7, then three back to back meetings/events at work that are much higher profile than usual... so I barely slept and feel like a zombie now.

The dr. who performed my scan is one of the founding dr.'s of the clinic and somewhat hesitantly agreed to look at my chart and evaluate my plan. I'm pretty sure he only did it because I reminded him so much of his daughter. He recommended maybe one more IUI and then moving on to IVF. I think if this one doesn't work, we're taking a break and planning for IVF in January.

I actually feel better about this now more than ever, since he gave a few examples of how not getting pregnant could be more of an egg/fallopian tube issue rather than implantation. My fear is that IVF won't help if I can't get anything to implant... but focusing on other possibilities makes me feel like this might actually be a viable option for us...

Enough rambling from me. Long story short - 5th and final IUI scheduled for Wednesday. Good luck to everyone this week!

  • Just got my BFN for IUI#2 today so we're moving on to IUI#3 whenever I get my period. :( I didn't have much hope this cycle because we had to trigger when my one and only follicle was only 15.4mm.  (I was starting to ovulate on my own) The doctor swore there was still a chance it could work, but after this BFN my husband decided if we find ourselves in that situation again we're converting to TI. I'm nervous about the timing for this next cycle because I have to be out of town for a few days next week... so I'm crossing my fingers that cd1 comes quickly so I can do my CD3 scan before I leave.

Married in 2011, NTNP until early 2012, TTC since early 2012

My husband was diagnosed with state IV colon cancer in 2009. Surgery and six rounds of chemo left him in remission (yay!) but with low testosterone. He took Androgel for two years starting in Jan 2011.
-SA in Jan 2013: big fat zero; stopped Androgel
    -varicocelectomy in June 2013
-SA in Dec 2013: 23mil/ml, really low morph
-SA in March 2014: Count doubled! Morphology apparently no longer an issue.

    Treatments:
    April 2014: hysteroscopy
    June 2014: TI (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel: 2 folliclces) = BFN
    July 2014: IUI#1 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel; 1 follicle, 23mil post-wash) = BFN
    August 2014: IUI#2 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel; 1 follicle, 43mil post-wash) = BFN
    September 2014: IUI#3 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel; 2 follicles, 15mil post-wash) = BFN
    October 2014: IUI#4 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel; 1-2 follicles, 12mil post-wash) = BFN
    November 2014: IUI#5 (clomid/bravelle/ovidrel: 1 follicle, 23mil post-wash) = BFN
    December 2014: IUI#6 (gonal-f/ovidrel): 2 follicles, 55mil post-wash) = ???

    *all are welcome!*

  • Congrats to the BFPs this cycle!!!

I'm 10dpiui....not feeling very optimistic this cycle on what will be our last IUI.  Keeping my fingers crossed for good news but trying to mentally prepare myself for a BFN.  On the plus side will be going on a short weekend getaway with family, but hopefully can relax some...

QOTW: This is way too hard to narrow down...I just love so many books.  My favorites are young adult though.  Maybe I'll get some new ideas of books to read from this though..

  • QOTW: What is your favorite book of all time?
Frankenstein. I think I can identify with the monster to some degree, and it makes me a little sad and frustrated when the monster is interpreted (IMO) wrong.

    Update:
IUI # 3 was a bust. I've been a lurker here since the bfn, but I'm ready (I think) to come back. We're doing a medicated TI cycle right. FW should be starting now, since I had some ewcm late this afternoon.
I guess now we have to decide if we want to do ivf or not. Our RE suggests 4 IUIs before going to IVF, but right now I feel like I already wasted all that money...

I am taking my last dose of clomid tonight by the way the hot flashes are no joke. I go in on Monday for my ultrasound to see where I'm at. They told me to bring the ovidrel to my appointment as well. My only problem is that I ovulate on my own; which is around CD 12-15. This my first IUI so not sure what to expect. My right tube is blocked my RE doesn't believe this help me and would like to go straight to IVF but because of insurance we can't. Our policy wants us to try 6 IUI's before they will cover IVF. I

  • Yah, I'm so happy to be back.  Been on a 3 month break.  This cycle has been flying by.  On CD 15 and triggering tonight.  WOW!!  I never O before CD 20.  Guess a break really does help. Or maybe it's the changes I've made. Who knows!! Doc has said he is so pleased with this cycle so far and it's our best one in the yr we've been seeing him.  bout time something goes right for a change.

  • Hey ladies! Congrats to the BFPs!

I had back-to-back IUIs Sunday and Monday. Had 3 mature follicles (yay!) and we had 20 million post wash sperm Sunday, and 16 million Monday. Also had acupuncture after each IUI, which has really helped with my anxiety/stress. Overall, I feel much more "at peace" with this whole process. Test day is 9/22, but let's be honest: I will prob test a little early. :)

QOTW: My favorite book is The Five People You Meet in Heaven. It's been years since I read it, but the message has stuck with me. I love the idea of everything happening for a reason - I'm not one to believe in coincidence.

FX for everyone cycling, rooting for you all! XO

    **EVERYONE WELCOME!! :)**

  • Hi everybody. I'm super late to the check in, as I was traveling for work which made for a busy week. I was thankful for the busy, however, as I found out on Friday that IUI #7 was a bust. I don't know what I'm doing now, aside from taking a treatment break to decide what is best for me going forward. But I know the process will involve a WTF appointment with my RE and a fair amount of alcohol.

That being said, feel free to remove me from the check in for now.

@kmdecoux, sooo happy for you!! Congratulations!
