Grocery shopping=mini vacation

I just got back from grocery shopping-BY MYSELF!  This is the first thing I've done alone since DD2 was born.  I don't even get to shower alone-I have her in the bathroom with me.  I swear that kid is still attached, only it's on the outside now.

I would've never thought five years ago that going to the grocery store alone would be so damn exciting for me!!!

  • I hear you loud and clear!!!!!!!!  Enjoy that every chance you get....

Sometimes you can even prolong it by making another "quick" stop while you're out.  Wink

  • I love shopping alone.  Love it love it love it.

  • LOL...I'm sure it was!! Shopping alone is one of life's greatest pleasures for me now, and I'm sure it will be doubly so once No. 2 comes along!

Yay for a little trip on your own.  I think as mom's we have to find the joy in little things (as far as me time goes).  I'm glad you were able to appreciate it. :)
  • isn't it pure heaven?  And then at first when you're alone you get REALLY annoyed if you hear another kid having a meltdown.  Afterall, you're alone to ESCAPE them.

But once your 2nd is old enough to make life a bit more difficult, you find you LOVE when other kids are flipping out because it's a reminder that 1) other parents are also living in similar hell, 2) you see a kid freaking out and you have ZERO responsibility...

    Twisted logic I know.

  • I love shopping by myself. ? I know how exciting it is! ?Yeah for solo shopping trips! :)?
  • Me too! I love shopping all by myself. It's so hard when you have to stop and feed/change them, and you've got a cart full of frozen and fresh groceries sitting there. I love to take my time, savor it. I like grocery shopping really early Saturday or Sunday morning, before DS or DH get up, it's so much easier to leave the house when they are unconscious (lol). I just tell him I'm leaving at 7, then go out and pick up a coffee on the way. This is the most adult part of my week, and I look forward to it all week.
