April 2015 Moms

We are in trouble ladies!

Been thinking about how amazing it is that I'll have this years holidays with my little pumpkin inside me & moving around by Thanksgiving/ Christmas! But let's face it- I didn't think about how much extra weight gain I'll be facing with ALL. THAT. FOOD! Oh well :) I can't wait for me & the baby to enjoy every last bit of the holiday yummies! Esp. since I'm praying my MS will be completely gone and I'll want meats again :)

Ah- cheers to holiday weight gain!

  • @souptin‌ oh I totally pray for your MS to lift .. Mine has someone lifted and I can eat a little more than just starchy foods at 9wk 3 day! I'm hoping that my meat sensitivity can go away for the holidays !! FX that darn sick bug goes away soon!
  • Bring it on. Last Christmas I couldn't eat anything with dairy or soy due to DD's allergies. As a result, I only got to eat turkey and vegetables for my Christmas dinner. Bring on the good stuff!

  • I had gestational diabetes while I was pregnant with my son during Thanksgiving. My doctor gave me a cheat day and said I didn't have to test my blood sugar that day and I could eat what I wanted but not go crazy. I know I'm gonna have it with this one too, so I won't go crazy
  • DS was born on Christmas day so by Thanksgiving I had zero room for food- I plan to make up for it this time :)
  • The built in excuse for stretchy pants is nice. But if you are worried you are "in trouble," then eat until you are full and no more. Just as with any other meal.

  • My mom is making a whole pumpkin pie for me. I've been thinking about it for weeks already. Yummm
  • @Ally1986‌ that's the best justification I've ever heard! Food shall replace all the wine!

My in laws are coming to beach w us for thanksgiving so I suspect I'll be doing much less cooking and much more sitting!

  • All I think about now is the glorious amounts of mashed potatoes I will be eating.  It's the one food that I'm actually able to stomach right now.  Hopefully by the time Christmas rolls around, I'll also be able to indulge in the amazingness that is homemade swedish meatballs-which we only make once a year.  The only thing that sounds absolutely disgusting is my mom's spinach soufflé as I currently have aversions to eggs and melted cheese.

  • This thread just made me really hungry lol.
  • I just eat food teases during the holiday seasons so I can taste everything without it being a big deal.
  • Now you have an excuse!
  • I'm ten weeks and four days and I was really happy that I was able to eat a total of four lean pieces of brisket today( two around 12pm and two at 4pm) without any nausea. It's the first time in weeks that I've been able to eat any type of meat. I might be brave tomorrow and try eggs
  • So strange .. I've been loving eggs and I still can't even look at chicken :/ or any meat! Try them! Hope it works! We need our holiday foods - not the MS!
  • This post has made me want a practice run of turkey, stuffing and pies this weekend. Holiday food is so yummy!

  • I'm looking forward to only being "moderately pregnant" during the holidays. Last time around I had already hit the "no room left for food" stage that a few others mentioned.
  • I'm really looking forward to being my own DD for NYE/my birthday. Oh wait.... :/

  • Unfortunately, all my favorite holiday foods include raw eggs and raw meat. Sigh. This certainly isn't the first time I will have to abstain, though, but hopefully the last!
  • So happy we are doing a potato bar pot luck at work this month now that I'm craving mashed potatoes

I'm trying to figure out how I'll get through the holiday visits with family sober. (Shudders)
And everyone will be rubbing your belly...and they'll be drunk!

  • I was pregnant during the holidays. I was still dealing with nausea at Thanksgiving so that went fine and then at Christmas/NYE I would get so full off of such small amounts of food that I didn't really have the opportunity to eat a ton of junk.
