"H" Names in English and Spanish!

Baby name picking is hard enough but DH and I have a few requirements that make this extra hard!

We're honoring a recently deceased Uncle of his by naming our child a name that starts with 'H', per cultural custom. And, I want to stay true to my Spanish roots with a name you can say in English and Spanish.

So...help! I need 'H' name options you can say in English and Spanish.

Ps. Not finding out the baby's gender! Just bc we really like making things harder!

  • That is really hard finding H names that can be easily pronounced in Spanish. I have an H name. It has always been a problem for Spanish speakers.

    Hector?

  • Slim pickings...Hugo, Hernan, or Humberto and for girls Hortencia or Honor? The best of the bunch are Hernan and Honor. But what about something starting with H without the H sound, like Honora? A little less harsh than Honor, and you could use the nickname Nora. Good luck!

  • Thank you all! I think we're thinking Hugo Aaron or Henry Xander. This way the baby can pick when he's old enough? Idk. This is harder than it should be.
  • I love love love Hugo! Honora is a lovely suggestion.

    Those are great!!
  • Hector, Hugo, Hernán, Hilario, Homero. Helena, Hortensia, Heloisa (a bit of a stretch). To my knowledge, Honor and Honora are not names in Spanish. And I would use the Spanish spelling for 'Horacio' rather than 'Horatio.'

Of your names, I prefer Hugo Aaron because it actually is the same in both languages.

We are also aiming for English/Spanish compatible names so I've given this idea some thought.
