I was disappointed last week to open my FB and see a post from an old college friend. It was a picture of her 5 year old holding a sign that said, "____'s first day of Kindergarten! (Except he's not going because he's home with the chicken pox!)". He's got a great big smile and all the comments are like, haha, lol, too cute...and I'm all agitated because this is really not cute or funny. It's dangerous!
After taking my son for his first round, I'm convinced that part off the reason this stupid "movement" has gotten so far is because it sucks to hold your kid down while someone jabs him with needles. I think some parents that buy into it are a little weak and a little selfish, and love having an excuse not to have to go through the vaccination process themselves. (And a little stupid, but that's a given).
I had the chicken pox vaccine and still got the chicken pox. So I don't think you can conclude the kid wasn't vaccinated. I've been told they can still get it, but cases are typically less severe.
I can't get the ticker to work, but I have two sons:

Having the chicken pox =/= not vaccinating.
She does not vaccinate her kids at all. Sorry, didn't realize I left that out.

Does she have some kind of exception that got him into school? Or does he go to religious school.

Depending on where you are, all you have to do (in some places) is state a religious objection. Bogus or not, that's good enough to attend public school.
I am thankful many places are changing those rules.
Re: The TRUTH about vaccines
I've lost a few friends over this. I really can't stand it.
Edited because autocorrect sucks.
