Re: ~*~*IF check-in 9/7/14~*~*

  • AFM:

Well, AF finally arrived on Labor Day so I was able to call my practice and find out what my FET schedule will look like.  I was pretty bummed to hear that it won't be until the end of October!  My practice cycles women like they do for fresh IVF cycles and I guess the FETs are all at the end of the month.  On the bright side I have another month to lose more weight and get back into a healthy eating pattern.  AND to focus on my doctorate classes which started last week.  I'm in that "what the heck was I thinking?" stage!

QOTW:  I would either open my own children's boutique where I could sell some of the items I love to sew or my own professional organizing company!

  • @Frenchteachermama‌ , thanks for the check in.

Well, the RE still believes that we're not at the point of needing IVF, but will fully support us if we choose to go that route after 3 failedIUIs.
Since he's new to the office, he's been reorganizing things and rewriting prices. He offered to code all of our monitoring as diagnostic, not treatment, thus eliminating a large portion of cost because our insurance covers diagnostic. Also, that then gives us a credit because he started coding everything like that on our last cycle

Essentially, we can do a few more IUIs at no cost. I think for sake of switching things up, I'll even try oral meds for a cycle or two.

If needed, IVF will happen at beginning of next year

    4 Losses (2003, 2008, Apr 2012, & Oct 2012)
All RPL and IF testing with multiple REs = normal

    5 IUIs = BFN

    All AL are welcome

Thats awesome that your RE is going to do that for you!  Insurance companies really anger me!  My Gonal F is $5 a pen if I was doing an IUI but since it's IVF it's $900 a pen and I needed 6 pens!!!!!!!!!!!  I think it's good to switch things up and see if you have a different response.  My RE reminded me after my 3 failed IUIs that there really is only a 10% success rate of IUIs so not to beat myself up on getting BFNs.  It's hard not to when you're putting so much effort in!!  FX that IUIs will work for you and you won't need to move to IVF!

  • @Frenchteachermama- Thanks for running the check in. Sorry your FET won't be until the end of October.  Hopefully the next couple of months go by quickly.
@Racheleigh- Thats good that you won't have to pay anything for your IUI! Hopefully you won't need IFV.

AFM-  AF still hasn't arrived, hopefully in the next week or two. I know I have to be patient, but it's hard because I want to start TTC again.

QOTW: I am a huge animal love and would want to open a no kill animal shelter.

  • Hiya!! :-h
Good morning to all my fellow IFers.

@Frenchteachermama‌ thanks for the checkin! I'm sorry you have to wait on your FET.... Waiting stinks; but I'm happy you found some positive in the wait.
@LizBlue‌ -- OMG congrats sweetie!! I'm so happy for you and I am wishing you a very H&H 9 months!
    @Rachaeleigh‌
Fx that the next round of IUIs is the ticket for you and you don't need IVF.
    @Rocks526‌
I'm sorry AF hasn't arrived; waiting on our bodies to get with the program can be so frustrating.....FX your body gets it together soon!

    AFM:
SHG on Friday went well. My RE says my ute looks "beautiful now" and that the transfer will be easy. Unfortunately the SHG triggered a nice parting AF from my Lupron, complete with nasty cramps...... :-q but I started estrace yesterday so hopefully that will stop the bleeding and my headaches. My RE said they will thaw ALL six embies the day before we do our FET and do the PGD on them.....then they will leave them ALL thawed until the next morning (transfer day) and decide then which one to transfer and re-freeze any that are left; this is anxiety inducing for sure.....and I don't know that I'll be sleeping the night before my transfer..... :-SS

On the bright side: DH's cancer screens all came back normalish. Nothing looked too weird to me (a couple of values on his labs look a but whacked but I doubt it is related to cancer)....... But I'm no doctor so we are still waiting for the official "all clear" from his oncologist.

  • Good morning! I had my ER on Thursday. It went well, but I was pretty sore. They got 17 eggs, and 12 fertilized. We won't get another update on them until our transfer Tuesday. I've been pretty lazy and working from home. But, the PIO shots are no fun! But worth it if it works...

  • I am sorry I am having a bad week. At the monitor scan the Dr said " I have never seen that before" gave me no advice and sent me on my way. My dominate follicle was abnormally shaped with no fluid. No follicle was larger than a 16 mm and my lining was very thin. I had a great response to Femara the last 3 cycles and now I am feeling a bit hopeless. I haven't heard back from my Dr yet. She was not there to do my scan.

QOTW: I would probably open a pub.... or a doughnut shop. Everyone needs beer and doughnuts.

@Frenchteachermama I am sorry you have to wait but the healthy eating plan is a great idea. I am about to get back onto mine.

@Rachaeleigh I am glad they have started to code your ultrasounds differently. Femara/Letrozole is not technically a fertility drug and my insurance does pay for it. My oop for it is $4.62.

@Rocks526 FX for the start of a new cycle.

@02girl It looks like things are going well for you FX everything continues smoothly.

@ky29 those numbers sound great to me... good luck.

@CandST2014 Yay for AF. It is nice to feel normal.

@MBJune FX thus is your cycle.

Thanks for the check-in @Frenchteachermama! GL with your doctorate and I'm glad you have a plan with the FET!

@Lizblue - so, so happy for you!
@ky29 - awesome results, lady! FX for ET!

AFM: I will probably test Wednesday night, so I can mentally prepare myself. The biggest test will not be checking my vm until I get home, b/c I don't want a breakdown at work if it comes back negative.

QOTW: I'd open an antiques shop. I def need and want a less stressful job!

I am sorry I am having a bad week.

UGH that is so frustrating?!  Please let us know what your doctor says.  I wonder if that follie was actually a cyst?  I think you should open a pub that is also a donut shop.

  • Hi ladies, can I join?  I don't usually bump on the weekends so I will prob. always be a day late but would love to support and get some more info.

I've had three losses...my first was at 19 weeks and the other two were miscarriages around 7-8 weeks.  I always thought just staying pregnant was my issue until they tested my OAR a month or so ago and got terrible scores...so my DX is low ovarian reserve.  I'm on bcp currently prepping for an ER in October and then hopefully a transfer in nov-dec after PGS testing.  looking forward to getting to know you ladies better.

I'm sorry you have to join us but we are very happy to have you!  I just went through my first IVF cycle after being diagnosed with DOR and low AMH (.20).  We were going to do PGS testing but since we only got 7 eggs my doctor decided against the PGS testing in the end.  My cycle was so touch and go that I was excited to get any eggs in the end!

I'm not an expert but just went through what you are about to.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask!!  I hope that everything will be worth it in the end and you'll get your rainbow!

  • Thanks for the check-in @Frenchteachermomma, and hugs to all that need them today.

I'm totally going to copy/paste from my month check-in and then close up shop as I am just not in a good place today. No beta for me as yesterday (10dpo) I awoke to spotting. At first I held out hope that maybe it was a late implant, as there was a little bit of bright red in the mix, which has never happened when I've spotted before and given the early timing of it, but it was only that one and first wipe. (The earliest I have ever spotted in previous cycles is 12dpo) Since then it has continued and despite the increase, I took a test this morning (11dpo) and it was a BFN. Queue break down, followed by emotional run around town at 5 AM because getting back to sleep was impossible. DH is so disappointed as he was convinced this cycle had worked based on other symptoms leading up to the spotting.

So now I just have to wait for it to actually kick in full force to count as cd1 and schedule a cd3 ultra sound to find out if we can start the injectible cycle or have to sit it out on bcp. I really don't think I will be able to handle having to sit out a cycle after this on top of dropping $1,200 OOP on the injectibles because we have to have them in hand when we go in for the cd3 appt and our insurance hates infertiles.

I'm really sorry that I'm a Debbie Downer today ladies. I think I'm going to take a step back from the boards for a little while because I'm not in the best place to offer up support. I appreciate you all tremendously so here's a round of chocolate martini's as a way of thanks for being there for me the last few months:
