HSG and AF (UPDATE after HSG)

Hi all. I have my HSG scheduled for Monday morning at 8:00am (have to be there at 7:30am). I'm freaking out because today is CD4 and I'm still bleeding pretty heavy. I "normally" only bleed for a good 3 days then just spot. My paperwork says the HSG test can't be done while bleeding. So naturally now I'm freaking out!

My OBGYN doesn't open until 7:30am on Monday (the time I'm supposed to be at the hospital). I'm praying tomorrow by some miracle that I'm just barely spotting. Have any of you ladies been in this situation?! I'm thinking I'll call the emergency on call Dr if I'm still bleeding heavily tomorrow night around 8pm or so.

AF has been a real PITA this cycle. Super heavy, a few little clots here and there, horrible back aches and abdominal cramps, and at one point what looked like a small piece of possible tissue (call Dr about that but they didn't seem worried because even though I'm bleeding heavier than normal I don't have to change my pad/tampon more than once an hour).

Why does this cycle have to suck so bad when I'm supposed to start these tests?!

I had my HSG done this morning. I only was spotting so they did it. OMG that was the most painful thing...thank god it only lasted a minute or two. Still super crampy now after it's done. Just gonna lay on the couch and watch movies today. The Radiologist and my PA in there both said the preliminary looks good and both tubes are clear yay. One more test down.

I had the same requirement -- no bleeding at all for the HGS test, so I did mine on CD 10. However, I asked the doctor and nurse during the HGS test and they said they would still have done the test on me if I had been spotting still.

I'm so sorry about your heavy/painful period this time. Our RE also says HSG can be done anywhere between CD6-12, but it's true that they need to see it post-AF. 

Can you call your OBGYN's answering service and let them know the situation, then they can have her get back to you? Otherwise, I would just show up at the hospital ready to go and let her make the call. It's not your fault, there is nothing that you could do about how long your period lasts. Sounds like perhaps they took a risk scheduling your for CD6.

Hope that AF stops already so you don't even have to worry about it!!

Ugh woke up this morning with high hopes. Still bleeding heavily. Gonna wait until 7:30/8:00pm tonight and probably call the emergency on call dr. I hate to do that but with my HSG scheduled for first thing before my office opens I don't know what else to do. I'm not even close to just spotting. UGH. I know it's not throat punch Thursday....so can I use sucker punch Sunday?! If so, sucker punch Sunday to AF lol.

Glad it came out well for you! It really is the worst freaking test ever. Take it easy!
