TTC After a Loss

AW: Started estrace...and crying at work

Hey ladies!
Just had to vent and let it out for a minute and you are my 'people' that I feel okay being a total basket case around.
After a super tumultuous IVF cycle full of OHSS and taps and getting admitted to the hospital, we waited a cycle to start our FET cycle.
So, AF came yesterday and I was super excited to start taking the Estrace and get my embryo transfer scheduled (September 20th if all goes well), but by 2pm today, after 5 doses of the fun blue pill, I was literally sitting at work bawling my eyes out. One of my co workers basically said "you work hard, but you're doing everything wrong" to me, to which I started crying...so then he says "why are you so depressed?"...to which I start bawling...
I'm so embarrassed I don't even know how I'm going to go to work on Monday.
Now, I had read on the infertility board that extracellular can turn people into an "emotionally unstable raccoon" , but I really didn't think it would happen so quickly. Please keep me sane ladies! I'm not totally nuts for getting upset right?
I'm so excited about being reunited with my frosties, but I just hope I can stay semi normal until then!
Also, just wanted to give a shout out and ((hugs)) to @O2girl‌ who's also starting her FET cycle today. Keeping my fingers crossed for you lady!!

Re: AW: Started estrace...and crying at work

  • Oh I'm so sorry! I was hoping this was just smurf vag complaint (we should trademark that) maybe it's just worse from the initial surge of hormones and you'll adjust this weekend? (((Hugs))) sweetie.

  • I'm so sorry. I don't remember my FET cycle and the estrace making me super emotional. I was also on estroge patches (vivelle) and think that I didn't add estrace until about 10 days prior to transfer. Remember it can just be emotional going through IVF and FET without all the hormones (from what I've heard from those that have done natural IVF), add the hormones and we're going to be off.
Do your coworkers know you're dealing with a medical issue right now (not IVF specifically but at least know something is up?) i think a simple - I'm just a little overwhelmed with my health right now is an option if you want to attempt to explain. But then again, I really think there is no need to explain unless a supervisor asks more questions. Just a random coworker, I say screw them and their opinion.

No, I just started a new job a couple months ago and haven't told anyone a thing. When i had my ER and OHSS, I told them that I had my "wisdom teeth out" and then had complications from that. I hate lying to them, but it would just be too awkward for me to tell strangers about the whole infertility thing right off the bat. This guy isn't my supervisor, but is definitely more senior to me. He's been kind of a jerk to me ever since I got here...kind of like a superiority complex thing, but it's really never gotten to me until today :-/
Also, I'm SUPER sensitive to meds...my OHSS happened after minimal doses of injectables...go figure. I tend to get every side effect under the sun...guess I'm just lucky like that.

  • Sending ((hugs)) Between the lupron headaches/fuzziness and the estrace blubbering, I've also been a huge mess this cycle.

At my ET, the doctor said it's amazing what we go through and I basically burst into tears.

It will be done soon lady- you hang in there.
